Till date, the state government has sent 500 doctors to jail in an attempt to break the spirit of the striking doctors. The Congress and BJP have made every effort to throw mud on the reputation of the striking doctors. Both the parties have collaborated in their attempts to paint this picture that the doctors don’t care about the sick and that many patients have died because of the strike. The government has declared the strike illegal and imposed ESMA. However, the striking doctors have kept their spirits high and forced the government to negotiate.
Alongside the doctors of government hospitals, 20,000 employees of the National Rural Health Mission have also gone on strike. These employees are contract workers. Their strike has substantially impacted the health services in the rural areas.
The resident doctors of the government hospitals have also gone on strike in support of the permanent doctors.
Mazdoor Ekta Lehar fully supports the struggle of the striking doctors and other employees. We denounce the anti-worker policy of the Rajasthan government.
