Formed in 2007, HEOFI is a trade union federation of hotel and catering workers, uniting workers of the industry across party lines.
The conference reviewed with increased concern the anti worker practices in the hotel industry, including hiring on fixed term contracts, and hiring workers as contract workers, casual workers, and trainees. Delegates from each of the seven states at the conference presented their plans to tackle threat in a national campaign coordinated by HEFOI. The Federation also took measures to reach out to hotel workers all across India to unite in one singe all India organization.
