Meetings on notebandi

Lok Raj Sangathan organized a series of meetings on the anti-people step of banning 500 and 1000 rupee notes on 8 November 2016. The meetings were held to expose the real aims of the government. Between January and the first week of March 2017, meetings were held at Bhiwandi, Kalyan, Ulhasnagar and Thane for workers, political activists, students and teachers. At the end of the PowerPoint presentation participants in every meeting were convinced that the aims of corruption, unearthing black money and ending terrorism by destruction of fake notes, announced for carrying out notebandi, were not the real aims. These aims were announced only to win the support of people. They were also convinced that this step has been taken to force people to deposit all their cash savings into banks so that they can be made available to capitalists for their use. A deliberate shortage of cash has been created to force people towards digital transactions so that huge profits can be made through commission on such transactions. Some of the biggest capitalists, both Indian and foreign, private banks, card and mobile companies are behind this anti-people move which deprived crores of people of their livelihoods and took hundreds of lives.

The need for Lok Raj became obvious when the participants realised how a step like notebandi, affecting everyone in the country, was taken without any consultation with people or even with so called representatives of people in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. They resolved to spread the truth about the real aims of the demonetisation and to unite people against this anti-people step.
