The Delhi Spokesperson of the Communist Ghadar Party of India said that our country has been independent since 63 years.  In 1947, the power to rule was transferred from the Crown in England to the hands of the capitalists in India. Therefore we should not have any reservation about saying that this is independence for the capitalist, not for the country's toiling workers and peasants.

He pointed out that in these 63 years, the toilers are sinking deeper into poverty while the wealth of the capitalists is growing with out any limit. The same time the capitalists of our country are among the wealthiest in the world.  Our country ranks high in the world in poverty, hunger, lack of drinking water, problems of housing, lack of electric power, naked-half clothed  people.  On behalf of my Party, I want to congratulate you for the struggle you are waging, in not begging but demanding the most basic facilities from the government.  You are building the unity of the local samitis. It is these samitis that will go forward to become the instruments of people's power. These are the samitis that will select, elect and exercise control over the representative. You will participate in every decision of the country. The workers-peasants and toilers must become the real rulers and decision makers of this country.

The Secretary of the South Delhi's Lok Raj Samiti elaborated on the weaknesses of the prevailing ration system. He applauded the militant struggles of the Lok Raj Samitis, under pressure of which the officers of Mandal no. 52 were forced to release hundreds of ration cards.

The representative of Purogami Mahila Sangathan spoke of the problem of toilets in the area, and the issues of safety, health and transport facilities for women and girls.  She gave a call to the people of the area to pick up the challenge of intensifying the struggle on these issues.

The Hind Naujavan Ekta Sabha representative raised the problem of unemployment being faced by the youth and the callous response of the government to this problem.

Local social worker Jawahar  explained that on the one hand the number of students in the schools were increasing but they were not able to continue their studies for lack of proper school buildings.

Hazari Pradhan illustrated with examples how the political parties keep people politically backward in their selfish narrow interests.

The discussion concluded with prize distribution to the participants of the essay and debating competitions and Lok Raj Sangathan's presentation on the demand for universal PDS.
