Dismissing a Bombay high court judgment, an apex court bench held that the Tata Memorial Centre was not under the control of the central government. It also said that it was not even a government body.
The lawyer who argued for the union, said, "the judgment restores the workers’ right to resort to legitimate methods to lodge their protest against the management’s unfair labour practices, including illegal termination of services, arbitrary cut in wages and discrimination".
