Kisans of Mansurwal village in Zira tehsil, Ferozepur, and its adjoining regions in Punjab have been protesting for over five months against Malbros International Limited, an alcohol manufacturing plant. The villagers are protesting against the hazardous effects of the discharge from the liquor factory on their groundwater, soil and the environment, which have already claimed several lives of humans.

Mass protests of people of Haldwani against evictions
Haldwani, in Uttarakhand, has been the scene of unprecedented protests by people against the threat of forcible eviction from their homes by the government of Uttarakhand. The protests began following the order of the Uttarakhand High Court on December 20, 2022, which authorized the use of force to evict thousands of families from 78 acres of land in Banbhoolpura claimed by the Railways.
