Mass protests of workers have been going on in France since January this year. More than a million workers participated in a one-day strike across France, on January 19, 2023. A Conference was held at Ammapettai, near Thanjavur in Tamilnadu to discuss problems faced by peasants and the way forward. It discussed burning issues facing the peasants, including problem of lack of water for irrigation of crops in the dry regions, the absence of a assured Minimum Support Price for all crops, and the absence of storage and other infrastructure facilities.

On March 23, 1931, Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev were murdered by hanging by the British rulers. They were labelled as “terrorists”. They and countless other revolutionaries sacrificed their lives to overthrow the British colonial rule and free their fellow working people, from slavery and all forms of exploitation and oppression. The British rulers wanted to destroy their revolutionary thoughts and actions by murdering them, by hanging them.
