Spread of mass uprisings across North Africa and West Asia

As we go to the press, masses of people in the Arab world stretching from Morroco in North Africa, through Algeria, Libya, Sudan, Yemen, and Bahrain have come out on the streets against their anti popular regimes. The people taking part in these uprisings have drawn inspiration from the mass revolts in Tunisia and Egypt which had resulted in the toppling of the unpopular rule of Ben Ali and Hosni Mubarak.

Communist School in Mumbai

Responding to the call of the Central Committee of our Party, the Maharashtra Regional Committee organized a Party School on February 12 and 13.  Members and friends of the Party from other organizations participated in this program. They seriously studied and discussed important selected themes from the Fourth Congress of the Party convened in October.

Militant Demonstration of Anganwadi workers

Thousands of anganwadi workers held a militant demonstration in Delhi on 24th of February, 2011. Women from all over the country took part in this demonstration. Anganwadi workers are being paid a paltry sum in the name of stipend. The women challenged Congress Chairperson Sonia Gandhi to run a family on this pittance.

Massive rally of workers of our country

On February 23, 2011, workers from all the states of our country, and various sectors of the economy, assembled together in the capital to march to parliament. The march to parliament was aimed at letting the government, parliament, as well as the people of the entire country know that the workers of our country, irrespective of party or union affiliation, have decided to organize unitedly for their rights. The workers affirmed that they are determined to resist the attacks on their livelihood and rights which have been unleashed by the UPA government on behalf of the capitalists.
