 US President Obama recently visited India to strengthen the alliance between the US imperialists and the Indian ruling class. Militant protest in Delhi against Obama’s visit and for peace in South Asia

A sea of red flags and banners marked the event jointly organised by the Communist Ghadar Party of India, the Socialist Unity Center of India (Communist), the Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, the Lok Raj Sangathan, the All India Workers Council, CPDM, Delhi Shramik Sangathan and Janpaksha.

Women demand a new state power, new constitution and a new political system and process!

On the occasion of 8th March, 2010, the beginning of the centenary year of International Women's Day, the Congress Party led UPA Government is tabling the Women’s Reservation Bill as its gift to the women of India. The aim of this Bill is to create reserved constituencies for women in every Lok Sabha and state assembly election, as the way to guarantee that at least one third of seats in these legislative bodies are occupied by women. This move has been welcomed by many parties including the BJP and the Communist Party of India (Marxist).

October 16 is the 102nd birth anniversary of Comrade Enver Hoxha, one of the greatest Marxist-Leninist personalities of the twentieth century.  Leader of the Party of Labour of Albania from its founding in 1941 until his death in 1985, and architect of socialism in Albania for five decades, Comrade Enver was a staunch anti-imperialist anti-fascist fighter and defender of the teachings of Marxism-Leninism. On the occasion of his birth anniversary, MEL recalls his towering achievements for the cause of revolution and socialism and honours his memory.

Haryana farmers’ militant opposition to land acquisition

The Congress Party and its leader Sonia Gandhi have been propagating far and wide that they have found a “solution” to the land acquisition problem which will be both in favour of the capitalists and the farmers. This is supposed to be the “Haryana model” of land acquisition. The on-going struggles of farmers all across the length and breadth of the state of Haryana against the land acquisition moves of the Haryana government have exposed the myth that there is a meeting ground between the farmers struggle for livelihood and the capitalists drive for maximum profits.

Kashmir: Real face of Indian democracy

The Editor, Apropos the article entitled 'Kashmir – an exposure of the real face of Indian democracy’, I am writing to express my thanks to the CGPI for its bold and categorical stand on the matter.  Written in the wake of the 'all-party’ delegation’s visit to Srinagar to supposedly appraise itself of the situation, the article captured in no uncertain terms that the mask of Indian democracy has been torn apart by the thousands of brave men, women and children who have come out into the streets to express their anger against continuous and increased repression under the hands of the state.
