On June 4, 2010 several peoples' organizations in Delhi organized a massive protest outside the Israeli embassy against the attack of the Israeli state on the aid ship which was trying to reach the 15 lakh people trapped by the three year long occupation of the Gaza strip. Workers, youth, women, intelligentsia, reporters, human rights activists as well as political and social activists participated in the protest in large numbers.
Sir, I am writing to express my support to the workers of Air India in their struggle against the dictatorial management authorities as well as the Minister for Civil Aviation, towards redressal of their genuine grievances. I fully endorse the demand raised by CGPI that the termination and suspension of Air India Union activists be immediately revoked. The attacks on the unions of workers in terms of “derecognition” and sealing of offices must be immediately ended.

On the evening of May 26, the CMD of Air India announced the termination of jobs of 17 union leaders of Air Corporation Employees Union (ACEU) and the All India Aircraft Engineers Association (AIAEA). He also announced the suspension of 15 engineers and threatened action against scores of other workers.
