Farmers’ movement is steadfast on the demand of MSP
The agitating farmers, who have been sitting on dharna since 13 February 2024 at Khanauri and Shambhu border between Punjab and Haryana, called for a Punjab bandh on 30 December. Kisan Mazdoor Morcha, Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee Punjab, Bhartiya Kisan Union Ekta Sidhupur, Bhartiya Kisan Union (Krantikari) and the farmers’ organization of Haryana, Bhartiya Kisan Union – Shaheed Bhagat Singh, made all efforts to make the Punjab bandh of 30 December a success. Campaigns were run in every district of Punjab from 27 December for the success of this bandh. Many workers, farmers and traders’ organizations are supporting this campaign.

The 24th Biennial Convention of the All-India Loco Running Staff Association (AILRSA) was held on 17-18 December 2024 in a very militant atmosphere at the Sri Krishna Memorial Hall, near Gandhi Maidan, Patna. About 3000 railway drivers from all over the country along with their families participated in this convention with great enthusiasm. Women loco pilots registered their presence in large numbers in the convention.

Arrest of Noida farmers

On 3 December 2024, farmers were peacefully protesting for their demands inside the National Dalit Memorial in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The farmers were forcibly arrested by the Uttar Pradesh Police in the afternoon. The police also arrested elderly women participating in the protest.
