Inhuman working conditions of track maintainers of Indian Railways due to huge vacancies

In the wake of the on-going agitation of loco-pilots of Southern Railways, the large number of vacancies of loco-pilots has become an important issue. The agitation has created an intense pressure on the Indian Railways as a result of which very recently the Railway Board has announced that more than 16,000 vacancies of Assistant Loco-pilots will be filled up.
