Indian Railways running staff agitate against proposal to reduce pay element in salaries

ThumbnailThe members of All India Guards Council (AIGC) and All India Loco Running Staff Association (AILRSA) representing the guards and engine drivers of the Indian Railways all over India demonstrated in front of their respective Divisional Railway Manager's (DRM) office on 4th February 2018. They were protesting against a proposal of the Running Allowance Committee to reduce the pay element in the calculation of the revised mileage rate. The Running Allowance Committee is constituted by the Railway Board, which is the top decision making body of the Indian Railways.

Agitation for Gorkhaland in Darjeeling: Reconstitution of the Indian Union as a voluntary union of consenting nations and peoples is an objective necessity

Demo in support of Gorkha demandsSince early June 2017, the agitation in Darjeeling and surrounding areas, for a separate state for the Gorkha people in West Bengal has become very intense. The agitators have organised an indefinite strike of all government offices and agencies. Gorkha students and working people in other parts of India, including in Jadavpur University in Kolkata and JNU in Delhi, have taken out rallies to express their support to the agitation.

Tamil Nadu Highways maintenance workers oppose privatization

Workers of Tamil Nadu Highways department road maintenance workers held 72 hours non-stop agitation opposing the privatization of the road maintenance work in the last week of July. Highways department of Tamil Nadu maintain about 11,594 K.m. of state highways, 11,289 K.m. of district main roads, 34,160 km of districts other roads and 2,250 Kms of National Highways.

Agitation by Southern Railway Loco Running Staff

The Loco Running Staff of the Southern Railways organized a protest demonstration on 22nd of Jan, 2014, in Chennai to highlight their key demands. Opposition to acquisition of fertile land for atomic power station

A rally was brought out under the leadership of Kisan Sangharsh Samiti on 19th March 2011 in Fatehabad, Haryana against the Gorakhpur Atomic Power Station. The demonstrators, consisting of hundreds of militant farmers, youth and women of 20 to 25 village panchayats, took out a candle light march right through the centre of the town.

In the last few weeks, masses of Kashmiri youth, men, women and children have poured out onto the streets of Srinagar and towns and villages across the Kashmir Valley in protest against the Indian state. The intensity and extent of their revolt has increased from day to day. They have defied repeated firing by the police and paramilitary forces, which has left a shocking 43 dead in the last 52 days.

100 years ago Ghadar Party was formed by Indians in the US.It was historic milestone in our anti-colonial struggle.

The goal of this party was to organise a revolution to liberate our motherland from British servitude and establish a free and independent India with equal rights for all. It believed this to be the necessary condition for our people to hold their heads high anywhere in the world.
