Joint demonstration against the anti-people policies of the Delhi Government

US imperialism playing dangerous war games in the Korean Peninsula

On November 23, during a major military exercise conducted off the waters of the Korean peninsula, the South Korean and US forces fired live artillery into the disputed territorial waters in the direction of North Korea. North Korea immediately responded with artillery fire that hit Yonphyong island which houses a South Korean military base along with some civilian population.

Massive protests in France

Workers in France launched a week-long series of protests from Sep 4, 2010 to protest against the plans of the French government to carry out “reforms” of the pension system which would mean that the working people would have to work for a larger number of years in order to be able to claim pension benefits. These protests took place against the background of the plans of the French government to push the burden of the economic crisis on the backs of the working people while continuing to provide massive subsidies to the big corporations and tax breaks to the rich.

Who should bear the burden of ‘national’ debt?

Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee and bourgeois economists in general try to hide the connection between the rise in National Debt and the rise in economic burdens that are piling up on the backs of workers and peasants at this time. In fact, the rising national debt is one of the major factors, and a permanent one, leading to ever increasing burdens being imposed on the toiling people, in the form of higher taxes and prices of everything they need to buy in the market.

The people of India are demanding - "take measures to control prices, or quit!"

After hundreds of small and big protests by workers, peasants, and working people demanding that the UPA government take immediate measures to control prices of essential commodities, the Indian people organized a massive Bharat Bandh on July 5, 2010. The Communist Ghadar Party of India as well as various other political parties, trade union organizations, traders' organizations, as well as student and youth organizations gave the call for this day of action. Mazdoor Ekta Lehar congratulates the workers, peasants, working people and traders of our country for making this Bharat Bandh a resounding success.

We deeply mourn

Mazdoor Ekta Lehar expresses its profound grief to the families of the 158 passengers and crew of the Air India Plane from Dubai that crashed in Mangalore Airport in the early hours of May 22, 2010. Hundreds of people have lost their sole bread earner in this tragedy.

Capitalist system ensures maximum exploitation of the working class

Recently the Delhi Government announced an increase in the minimum wages effective 1st February 2010. As per the revised wages, the minimum monthly wage for an unskilled worker will be Rs. 5,278. This increase is the result of the persistent struggle of workers, trade unions and other organizations like the Mazdoor Ekta Committee.

Food inflation: Why are prices so high and what is the solution?

Working class and toiling families are facing an intolerable situation, with the prices of every essential of food – rice, wheat, pulses, sugar, eggs, milk, vegetables, including onions and potatoes – spiraling upwards since the last nearly one year. Prices that started rising a year ago are continuing to spiral up and the rate of inflation has crossed 20%.

Tenth Anniversary of Modern Foods Struggle: Privatisation needs to be opposed resolutely

Manifesto 2014There is growing realisation among workers, peasants and other self-employed people that the program of liberalisation and privatisation only serves to enrich an exploiting minority at their expense. Mass resistance is growing to this anti-worker, anti-peasant and anti-national program. However, the working class is being prevented from realizing its potential as the leader of all the exploited, and as the grave-digger of capitalism, by those in the communist movement who are spreading harmful illusions and compromising the class struggle.
