On the colonisation and the imperialist exploitation of Guam

Dear Editor

With respect to the condemnation of US warmongering and threats against the Korean people, I would like to bring to the attention of your readers that Guam, an island in the Pacific Ocean with a little over 200,000 people is one of the bases for the US military.

Contradictions have become increasingly visible between countries, nations and peoples fighting for their sovereignty and the dominant imperialist powers that are imposing their vision on every country. US imperialism has shown its readiness to wage wars to defend its dominant position and those of American multinational corporations. It has unleashed death and destruction in West Asia and North Africa already.

Down with the visit of US imperialist chieftain Obama to India!

US President Barrack Obama is scheduled to visit India in the second week of November, 2010.

This visit comes at a time when the US imperialists are getting caught in the mire of the war they have unleashed in Afghanistan and Pakistan’s border provinces, as a result of the heroic resistance struggle of the peoples.

In the last few weeks, masses of Kashmiri youth, men, women and children have poured out onto the streets of Srinagar and towns and villages across the Kashmir Valley in protest against the Indian state. The intensity and extent of their revolt has increased from day to day. They have defied repeated firing by the police and paramilitary forces, which has left a shocking 43 dead in the last 52 days.

Prime Minister's message on Kashmir

Two months after the latest round of furious protests by the Kashmiri people began, the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh finally chose to address the issue. This was at an “all-party” meeting convened in New Delhi to discuss the situation in Kashmir, from which many parties to the struggle there were conspicuously absent. Manmohan Singh’s remarks at the meeting were enough to dispel any illusions that his government was going to launch any fresh initiatives to solve the problem.

Glimpse of bourgeoisie’s militarization plans in world context

While dealing with India’s militarization, it must be kept in mind that the US is the worlds most heavily armed power, on all counts, with its armies deployed all over the world. Not only is it the most heavily armed power in the conventional and nuclear sense, it spends 9-12 times as much on military expenditure each year (US $ 515 trillion) as compared with the next set of countries ( France, China, UK, Germany, Japan, Russia, Italy) and 16 times as much as India, Saudi Arabia and Turkey, the second set of countries on the list, on military outlay.

History of Ghadar PartyA Presentation of Communist Ghadar Party of India

100 years ago Ghadar Party was formed by Indians in the US.It was historic milestone in our anti-colonial struggle.

The goal of this party was to organise a revolution to liberate our motherland from British servitude and establish a free and independent India with equal rights for all. It believed this to be the necessary condition for our people to hold their heads high anywhere in the world.
