All India Convention of Railway Drivers

Report of the correspondent of Mazdoor Ekta Committee

The 24th Biennial Convention of the All-India Loco Running Staff Association (AILRSA) was held on 17-18 December 2024 in a very militant atmosphere at the Sri Krishna Memorial Hall, near Gandhi Maidan, Patna. About 3000 railway drivers from all over the country along with their families participated in this convention with great enthusiasm. Women loco pilots registered their presence in large numbers in the convention.

On 10 December 2024, thousands of Asha workers staged a strong protest under the leadership of Asha Workers Union. They surrounded the District Medical and Health Office of Hyderabad in support of their demands.

Arrest of Noida farmers

On 3 December 2024, farmers were peacefully protesting for their demands inside the National Dalit Memorial in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The farmers were forcibly arrested by the Uttar Pradesh Police in the afternoon. The police also arrested elderly women participating in the protest.

Demonstration to protest against oppression of women

Several women’s organisations came together on 16 December at Jantar Mantar to organize a joint protest against the increasing violence and oppression of women under the banner – “From Nirbhaya to Abhaya-Remember and Resist”. Many students and youth joined working women and men at this protest action.

This system, whose main goal is profit for the capitalists, promotes unplanned and uncontrolled development. People are becoming victims of pollution and again doubly, in the name of mitigating pollution.

On 12 December 2024, domestic workers protested at Jantar Mantar in support of their demands. This protest was organized by the National platform of Domestic workers. More than 500 domestic workers from across the country participated in this protest.

Condemn the attack on farmers at Shambhu border by the Haryana police

The farmers have every right to come to Delhi to voice their demands before the Central government. The demand for a legally guaranteed MSP for all crops is a just demand which enjoys the support of the working class and people of our country. The attack by the Haryana police on the farmers at the Shambhu border must be roundly condemned.
