Japan : Rally to protest anti-union activities of shipping company
Dockers and seafarers gathered outside the head office of a Japanese shipping company Dowa Lines in July 2010 against the firm’s anti-union actions. They demanded that the company sign agreements of the International Transport Workers Federation (ITF) for its fleet of 24 vessels.

Hundreds of workers carried out a protest action at the gate of Foxconn at its Sunguvarchattiram unit near Sriperambudur, about 40 Km from Chennai.
This followed the hospitalisation of over 250 women and men workers. These workers had inhaled toxic gases inside the plant.
