Dear MEL Editor,
I read your analysis of the recent elections in five states with great interest. I understand that the voting pattern reveals to some extent the growing anger of people. At the same time, it is the ruling capitalist class which has used these elections to install governments of its choice.
I am writing to thank you for the article in the Dec. 1-15, 2018 issue of MEL that was published to mark the 70th anniversary of Human Rights Day, which carried the byline `Navnirman of Indian society based on modern conception of human rights is an immediate necessity.' The most important feature, if I may say so, is that Human Rights have been won by the peoples of the world through long decades, if not centuries of struggle and is not something that the bourgeoisie should congratulate itself on giving to the peoples of the world. But rather, right from the era starting at the end of World War II, the issue of Human Rights has been a sticking point for the bourgeoisie and the imperialists on which they are unable to satisfy the crying needs of the peoples of the world. The concessions that were made at that time have also been rolled back.
With reference to the article carried in the Nov. 16-30, 2018 issue of MEL entitled `Elections in 5 states: Both BJP and Congress Party must be defeated! Building worker-peasant united front is the only way.’ The issue of elections and that of the divide between the so-called `communal' and `secular' forces is one of the important ones on which massive confusion is caused by bourgeoisie to continue its rule.
I wish to congratulate the CC of the CGPI on the fearless stand it has taken in the form of the Statement dated 20-10-2018 and carried in the Nov. issue of MEL entitled `Let us stand with the victims of sexual harassment.' There has been some confusion being created in the minds of the common people by stating that complaints have only come forward from `entitled' women and women who are themselves of privilege, as if any crime committed against such women is any less gruesome, even assuming that such ridiculous charges are true.
Dear Editor,
The article in MEL entitled “Anarchy, Violence and Terror Serve to Maintain Capitalist Rule” is very timely, and sheds much needed light on this growing phenomenon in our society today.
People everywhere are getting more and more alarmed by the growth of the politics of violence and terror, and the systematic targeting of individual people and communities on the basis of religion, caste, region and so on. It is clear that those in power are very much behind this, and that they are using this for their agenda.
Dear Editorji,
One of the issues being debated in the news media these days is whether GDP grew faster when the Congress Party was in charge or when the BJP has been in charge. I believe this is a completely diversionary debate. Workers and peasants do not benefit from capitalist growth, no matter whether it is in single digits or in double digits.
The Editor,
I am writing to thank you for carrying the statement of the CC of the CGPI issued on 12-8-2018 entitled `Workers and peasant must organise to become the rulers of India!', which has been carried in the August 16-31, 2018 issue of MEL. The matter has ceased to be one of academic interest and is indeed the imperative of the day, caused by the unbearable living conditions for the largest fraction of the people of the country by the bourgeoisie, its parties and its policies.
The Editor, MEL.
Sir,
I am writing in response to the Statement of the CC of the CGPI dated 11-7-2018 written soon after the 43rd anniversary of the declaration of the ``National Emergency'' which is entitled `Lessons of the National Emergency (1975-1977) and carried in the July 16-31, 2018 issue of MEL. The Statement gives a summary of the historical backdrop of the declaration and further goes to draw important lessons for those in the revolutionary camp as well for the working class, the harbinger of the revolution, in general.
I am writing to thank you for carrying the bold and principled Statement of the CGPI dated 14 April 2018 entitled 'Condemn the brutal missile attacks on Syria'. Indeed, as the statement says, all peace loving people of the worlds must unite to condemn the USA, the UK and France, the so-called `allies' in carrying out this barbaric act which is a flagrant violation of international law.
Sir,
In the speech of Com. Lal Singh delivered on the occasion of the marking of the 37th anniversary of the founding of our beloved party the CGPI, our General Secretary has taken pains to explain why "Ghadar" is present in our name: as an ever present reminder that our call is that of revolution and no effort should be spared until this goal has been reached.
The Keynote Speech by Com. Lal Singh, General Secretary of the CGPI delivered on the occasion of the Party Conference to commemorate the Centenary of the Great October Revolution has drawn very clear lessons for Indian communists, while hailing this great event and the leadership of the Party in this.
I read the Call of the CC of the CGPI entitled `Demands for loan waiver and public procurements are entirely just! It is the State's duty to ensure prosperity and protection for peasants! We are not asking for charity! Secure livelihood is our basic right!, dated November 20, 2017 (printed in December 1-15, 2017 issue of MEL).
Sir, This is with reference to the article “The Rohingya refugee crisis” published in 1-15 Oct 2017 issue of the Mazdoor Ekta Lehar. The article provides an excellent perspective on the crisis along with information that is hard to find in the so called main stream media.
Sir, I am writing to thank you for the important and informative article on the ongoing Rohingiya refugee crisis (article bears the same title) in the October 1-15, 2017 issue of MEL. I would like to first of all express my sincere regret and sadness at the plight of the people who have been displaced from their homes in Myanmar. I would also like to join you in condemning the attitude and the behaviour of the government of India that has said that they would send them back to Myanmar possibly into the hands of certain oppression under the military and government of Myanmar.
Sir, I am writing to thank you for highlighting the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the publication of Vol. 1 of `Das Capital' which was a landmark publication. Karl Marx, the founder of modern dialectical materialism and the theory of class struggle continued his work and did not live to see the publication after completion of Vols. 2 and 3.
The article entitled "US unveils strategy for Afghanistan and South Asia: Grave threat to all peoples of the region" in the September 16-30, 2017 issue of MEL is educative and a must for the working class which is constantly bombarded by the Indian ruling class controlled media, the world according to which is one where Pakistan is the epicentre of terror, and that it is the US that is the guardian of democracy in the world, and also in the region. In reality, nothing could be farther from the truth.
Sir,
The Statement of the CC of the CGPI entitled 'Building a new India requires getting rid of the old exploitative system and the oppressive State!' in the Sept. 1-15, 2017 issue of MEL is a thought provoking piece. The Statement was issued in the wake of the 70th Independence Day observance and as a response to the call of the PM where he called for building a "New India" over 5 years (!), in India without poverty, corruption, communalism and discrimination.
Dear Editor
With respect to the condemnation of US warmongering and threats against the Korean people, I would like to bring to the attention of your readers that Guam, an island in the Pacific Ocean with a little over 200,000 people is one of the bases for the US military.
Sir,
... In particular, I am struck by the opening sentence of the article, cf., `The Partition of 1947 haunts the peoples of India, Pakistan and Bangaladesh even today.' This sentence conveys a large number of important concepts that anyone who is interested in the welfare and progress of the peoples (note plural) who live in these countries.
The Editor,
MEL.
I am writing in response to the statement of the CC of the CGPI dated July 29, 2017 on the eve of the 70th anniversary of Indian independence which falls on August 15, 2017, which is entitled ``On the 70th anniversary of Indian independence: The peoples of India will be free only when we establish our rule in place of the rule of big capitalists established in 1947.''
The Editor,
I am writing in response to the Call of the CC of the CGPI dated 04-07-2017 entitled 'Oppose the anti-national, war mongering Indo-US military strategic alliance' carried in the July 16-31, 2017 issue of MEL.
This is a particularly important call because it clarifies the stand of the Party as to why such a military alliance is a path of disaster and also states explicitly that the people of India stand to gain nothing from an alliance with the most hated imperial power in the world.
Sir,
Sir,
This is in response to the May Day call of the CC of the CGPI dated 29-4-2017 entitled `Strengthen the united working class opposition!' carried in the May 1-15, 2017 issue of MEL. This is an excellent piece of theoretical and practical work, the hallmark of the CGPI, and an excellent piece of tactics in the ongoing class struggle towards the goal of socialism and emancipation of the working class and liberation of society from the shackles of vicious capitalist enslavement.
I am writing to thank you for carrying the important and educative article entitled 'What is the way out of the crisis of agriculture?' in the May 1-15, 2017 issue of MEL. This article is an outstanding example of Marxist-Leninist analysis of the concrete problems faced by the people of the country engaged in the agricultural sector, accounting probably for 70% of the population. The article begins by noting the recent directive from the Madras High Court to the Government of TN to waive all farm loans through cooperative banks.
I am writing in response to the call of the CC of the CGPI as we approach May Day of 2017, and which was carried in the April 16-30, 2017 issue of MEL entitled `An attack on one is an attack on all! Build and strengthen the working class opposition to the capitalist offensive! In particular, I would like to join the chorus of outrage at the brutal and draconian sentence of life imprisonment on 13 Maruti-Suzuki workers in Gurgaon.
Sir,
This is with reference to the article `On the Present Situation and our Tasks: Assessment of the Plenum of the Central Committee, March 2017' carried in the April 1-15, 2017 issue of MEL.
The Plenum was convened at a time of severe crisis of the international system and the intensification of fascism and war the world over. Indeed, with the ascension of the Trump Presidency, the US has transformed itself in an openly fascistic society both at home and outside.
Sir,
This is in response to the principled and deeply researched statement of the CC of CGPI dated 10-3-2017 and carried in the March 15-31, 2017 issue of MEL, entitled `To respond to the call of Shaheed Bhagat Singh means to work for the revolution and socialism on Indian soil!' written prior to the anniversary of the execution of Bhagat Singh, Sukhev and Rajguru on March 23, 1931. The statement specifically notes,
1) that it is an occasion for all revolutionaries to redouble their efforts to achieve the goal of revolution and socialist India,
and
Sir,
I am writing in response to the statement of the CC of the CGPI dated March 17, 2017 and carried in the March 15-3, 2017 issue of MEL ``Elections have been used to manufacture a "mandate" for the big bourgeoisie's agenda".
Dear Editor,
Sir,
I am writing in response to the article entitled 'Governmental Crisis in Tamilnadu: Parliamentary democrcy stands completely exposed' in the March 1-15, 2017 issue of MEL. This is an excellent piece of Marxist-Leninist analysis, and also provides a complete and objective basis for analyzing the political system in India, based on the most scientific principles.
The BJP government of Jharkhand is pulling out all stops to welcome Indian and foreign multinationals to plunder the land, labour and rich mineral resources of the state. Over 200 MOU's with Indian and foreign capitalists were signed on 16-17 February at a Momentum Jharkhand Investors' Summit 2017.
Sir,
I am writing in response to the Statement of the Central Committee of Communist Ghadar Party of India issued on 24th January on the occasion of the 67th anniversary of the Indian Republic, titled: We need to rebuild the Republic on an entirely new foundation.
With this statement, Communist Ghadar Party has shown that it is possible even in these times of obfuscation and confusion to unwaveringly stick to the true path for the liberation of Indian society.
The article 'On the Note Ban: Real Aims and False Claims', in the Jan. 1-15, 2017 issue of MEL was excellent. I am very happy to note that the same has been brought out as a separate publication.
I am writing in response to the fitting tribute that appeared in the Dec. 16-31, 2016 issue of MEL to the memory of the great revolutionary leader Fidel Castro Ruz who passed away recently, in the article entitled `Farewell to the Undefeated Commandante, Fidel!'
The revolutionary leader was instrumental in the liberation of his country Cuba in 1959 from the clutches of the right-wing dictatorship headed by Batista, and for helping the brave people of that country brave decades of sanctions and aggression at the hands of the US imperialists and decades of encirclement.
Sir,
Sir,
I am writing to congratulate you on carrying the excellent and in-depth article `The Indian State perpetuates caste discrimination and oppression' carried in the September 1-15, 2016 issue of MEL which carries the by-line `Emancipation of Dalits from caste oppression can come only through the class struggle of the proletariat to end all forms of exploitation and discrimination'.
Sir,
This is being written in response to the article entitled '71 years after the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki' in the August 16-31, 2016 issue of MEL that carries the byline `US imperialism remains the fountainhead of fascism and war'. One has to see the connection between the actions that took place over seven decades ago, and the events and horrors that are unfolding in front of our eyes on a daily basis.
Sir,
I am writing in response to the important Statement of the CC of the CGPI dated 15th August, 2016 entitled 'On the occasion of the 70th Indian Independence Day: Which way forward for India?' published in the August 16-31, 2016 issue of MEL. This statement is based on the scientific principles of Marxism-Leninism which is based on dialectical materialism and class struggle and sums up the concrete conditions on the ground in the country at this particular time. The Statement begins by giving a summary of the ground reality, the salient features of which are
I read with great alarm the report entitled `NATO escalates war preparations' in the August 1-15, 2016 issue of MEL.
This is response to your reprinting an excerpt from the article by Com. V. I. Lenin written exactly a century ago entitled `The Discussion on Self-Determination Summed Up', with the byline `The Irish Rebellion of 1916', which is a great classic and is compulsory reading for all in the revolutionary camp.
Sir,
I am writing in support of the strong condemnation issued in the columns of MEL of July 15-31, 2016 in the article entitled 'Brutal attack on protests against the killing of Burhan Wani: Condemn the barbatic persecution of the Kashmiri people!'.
Sir,
I would like to express the sentiment that all those in the revolutionary camp must extend utmost support to this effort to make the 2nd September General Strike a success. This is in accordance with the resolution of the National Conference of Trade Unions to protest against the anti-worker, anti-farmer, anti-national policies of the central government.
Sir,
The statement issued by the Delhi Regional Committee of the Communist Ghadar Party of India on the occasion of 1 May 2016, International Workers Day, entitled `This parasitic and rotten system is a burden on the working class!' is truly informative and optimistic.
The Editor,
MEL.
Sir,
The article on the Union Budget carried in the March 16-31, 2016 issue of MEL is of great interest to all those who are interested in a future for the people of our country. It is also worth noting that under the aegis of democracy, what really exists is a government of the rich, for the rich.
The Editor,
MEL.
Sir,
I am writing in response to the statement of the CC of the CGPI entitled `Condemn the persecution of university students!' that carries the byline `No to the criminalisation of dissent! It is the rulers who are acting against unity and solidarity of our people!' carried in the March 1-15, 2016 issue of MEL.
The statement of the CC of the CGPI dated 23-1-2016 entitled `On the occasion of Republic Day 2016: Unite, organise and lead the struggle for the Navnirman of the Republic!' in the February 1-15, 2016 issue of MEL is an important piece of reading that has analyzed the key features of the political economy, based on the principles of dialectical materialism and class struggle.
On 8th February 2016, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) passed an order which barred differential pricing of data based on its content by internet service providers.
I found the piece entitled `Economic Notes, January 2016: Global economy in trouble' carried in the February 1-15, 2016 issue of MEL to be extremely educative in the matter of the economy. It informs the reader so we are not misled by bourgeois economic propaganda.
The important facts recounted in this article may be organized in the following bullet points:
I am writing in response to the warm and inspiring New Year message from the General Secretary of our party, Com. Lal Singh at the onset of the year 2016. The message is entitled 'Unite and organise to lead the struggle for the Navnirman of India', which is an inspiring title and I would like to second this call.
I was thrilled to participate in the study of my Party unit in which the New Year message from Comrade Lal Singh –“ Unite and organise to lead the struggle for the Navnirman of India”- was tabled and discussed. Every para is so full of meaning.
The article entitled `Japanese PM Shinzo Abe's visit to India: Growing Indo-Japanese collaboration in the economic and strategic interests of the Indian and Japanese bourgeoisie' in the January 1-15, 2015 issue of MEL was highly informative.
Sir,
It appears only when our political leaders enter the exalted precincts of British institutions that they speak the truth about their umbilical relations with erstwhile colonial masters. They cannot lie to their ideological mentors.
It is with great interest that I read the article entitled Prime Minister Modi's visit to the UK: In the service of the Indian and British bourgeoisie' carried in the November 15-30, 2015 issue of MEL.
I read with great interest and pleasure the article in the Nov. 15-30, 2015 issue of MEL on the India-Africa Summit, with the byline `Indian bourgeoisie's imperialist drive in Africa', in light of the Summit held in New Delhi 26-30, 2015. It is important to have indepth articles of this type to educate the working class on the true nature of the Indian bourgeoisie.
The article on “These elections will not solve the problems of the workers and peasants of Bihar” is a refreshing reality check on the merry subversion of public opinion being carried out by the mainstream media.
Re: the article `98th anniversary of the Great October Revolution: Prepare for the coming revolutionary storms!' carried in the November 1-15, 2015 issue of MEL, I found the opening sentence, `The entire world, including India, is a seething volcano waiting to erupt' very significant.
The article entitled `Modi's visit to the US' that carries the byline in the title `In service of the imperialist drive of the Indian big bourgeoisie' in the October 15-31, 2015 issue of MEL was very informative.

Delhi's AAP government has increased the salaries of guest teachers working in government schools by a mere Rs.100/day. The government is patting itself on the back and claiming to be a pro-people government. But reality is to the contrary. For the past several years, guest teachers have been working at minimum wages.

The article entitled `Reaffirming Leninism on the 14th birth anniversary of Comrade Lenin (Parti II)’ in the May 15-31, 2015 issue of MEL is extremely educational. Indeed, one of the greatest contributions of Com. V. I. Lenin has been the book “Imperialism, the Highest Stage of Capitalism” where the title itself speaks volumes.
The statement of the CC of the CGPI issued on the 5th of May, 2015 entitled “Hail the heroic role of the socialist Soviet Union in the Second World War!” was issued on the eve of the 70th anniversary of the defeat of Nazi Germany in the Second World War, by the Allied forces headed by those of the Soviet Union.

Sir,
The ground reality of the political economy is the object of the science and a dispassionate study of the political economy requires the most advanced tools which are based on dialectical materialism and class struggle. The statement of the CC of the Party of 3rd October 2014 on the Haryana Assembly Election 2014 reflects the conclusions of such a study.
Sir,
If there is one sticking point in the conscience of the peoples of India, which is a making of the ruling circles and not that of the people, it is the tragedy of Kashmir. It is the point where many of the unresolved issues of the country’s destiny come into sharp collision and focus, and a study of its history is a learning experience for all the people of India.

Sir,
Dear comrades,
I was happy to read the article in Issue 6 of the MEL entitled “Condemn the growing fascism”. The message is commendable. The act of branding Kashmiri students as traitors is very disturbing, though I personally have no interest in cricket.

I am writing to thank you for carrying the Statement of the CC of the CGPI dated 21st May, 2013 on the `Lessons from the Karnataka Assembly election and its result’ published in the June 1-15, 2013 issue of MEL. There are several salient points in this article which may be highlighted as under
Sir,
Sir,
I would like to the CC of the CGPI dated 7th May, 2013 `Acquittal of Sajjan Kumar in the 1984 genocide is a blatant act of injustice!' It is a particularly brave stand to take due to the bourgeois pressure to accept the ruling of some of their hallowed institutions including that of the juidiciary.
The article on the General Budget printed in the April 1-15 issue of Mazdoor Ekta Lehar was extremely enlightening. This article clearly lays bare the character of the Indian state and in whose interests it functions.
I am writing to thank you for carrying the instructive article entitled `The fundamental teachings of Lenin remain valid and are extremely relevant today!’ written to mark the 143rd birth anniversary of V. I.
I am writing to thank the CC of the CGPI for its inspiring Call dated 10th April 2013 entitled `Organise to defeat the program of globalization through privatization and liberalisation! Unite and fight for worker-peasant rule!’ issued on the eve of May Day of 2013.
Dear Sir,
Sir,
Sir,
I am writing to thank you for the insightful and important article entitled "Warmongering is totally against the interests of the peoples of India and Pakistan" in the February 1-15, 2013 issue of MEL.
I am thanking you for carrying the statement entitled "Indian needs a modern democratic state -- statement of the Central Committee of the Communist Ghadar Party of India, 22nd January, 2013" in the February 1-15, 2013 issue of MEL. The statement starts with the preamble that the masses of the people are contesting the myth that we have a modern democratic system in the country.
Sir,
I would like to congratulate the CGPI for heralding 2013 in an inspiring, revolutionary manner and extend revolutionary greetings to Comrade Lal Singh and all the comrades of the Party.
Dear Editor,
While the most irresponsible statements have been made by the so-called political leaders of our country in connection with the Delhi gang-rape case, it is heartening to see that transport workers’ unions have responded with a high degree of social responsibility.
Sir,
Sir,
"The Indian state is responsible for the demolition and massacre", this is the only conclusion any sensible and unbiased person would draw from the above facts and analysis. While the facts are indisputable, the analysis is scientific and extremely sharp.
Sir,
I am writing to thank you for carrying the speech of Com. Prakash Rao presented on November 4, 2012 which was entitled `The struggle to punish the guilty and to prevent communal violence is part of the struggle for the Navnirman of India', which was carried in the November 16-30, 2012 online issue of your paper.
I read the issue of Oct 16-31 of the Mazdoor Ekta Lehar on the internet. It is has some significant articles. I would like to offer a few comments on the article, "Growing opposition to the capitalist-imperialist reform agenda.
I have read with interest your October 16-31 issue which carried a box on “Extension of working hours and increase in workload.” This matches with my own experience in life. I am an IT Engineer. I sit in front of my computer in an air-conditioned room. But I do not think I am better off than some workers performing manual work.
To: The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh
Subject: That the guilty of the 1984 Sikh genocide be punished so as to check communal violence and secure the future
The article on the anti-people policies of the UPA government that was published in the issue of MEL October 1-15, brings out very well that the party which is in the majority of the central cabinet wields all power in this “democracy”.
I am writing in response to the article entitled `The genocide of Sikhs in November 1984: Those in power must be held accountable for their crimes’ published in the October 16-31, 2012 issue of MEL on the eve of the anniversary of one of the worst organized crimes against the Indian people. It is well acknowledged that a severe crisis in the ranks of the ruling circles was emerging
I am writing to thank you for the informative article on the Coalgate Scam in the Sept.
I would like to thank MEL for bringing the issue of privatisation of water supply in it's June 16-30 edition under the title-Delhi Jal Board workers oppose privatisation. We are going the wrong way in our water policy. Rahul Gandhi said when he visited the drought hit areas of Maharashtra that he will take WB loan to solve the problem.
Sir,
Sir,
I wish to join the refrain expressed in the article published in the June 1-15, 2012 issue of MEL entitled “Condemn US imperialist intrigue and meddling in India and the region!” This article was published at the time of the visit of Ms. Hillary Clinton, US Secretary of State and well-known war monger and mischief maker.
Sir,
I am writing to thank the CC of the CGPI for its incisive and insightful statement entitled "Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha are major pillars of capitalist rule!" released on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Lok Sabha, 20th May, 2012.
Sir,
Sir,

Dear Editor,
I am writing to thank the CC of CGPI for posting the document based on the initiating speech made at the working class conference on the Way Forward held 23-24 December, 2011 by Comrade Lal Singh on behalf of the CC of the CGPI, duly edited based on discussions that took place, on the party web-site.
Dear Editor,
I am writing to thank the CC of the CGPI for its call entitled "Defeat the program of privatisation and liberalisation! Fight with the aim of establishing workers' and peasants' rule!" given on the eve of the All India General Strike of February 28, 2012.
I read the article, “The anti-worker and anti-national policy of privatisation must be exposed and resolutely opposed” in the February 1-15 issue of Mazdoor Ekta Lehar. Reading this, I got to know of the conspiracy hatched by the government in its efforts to privatize Air India.
I read the article that called for exposing and resolutely opposing the anti-worker and anti-national privatization policy of the government in the February 1-15 issue of Mazdoor Ekta Lehar. The reader got to know the conspiracy hatched by the government in its efforts to privatize Air India.
Sir,
Dear Comrade
I consider myself very fortunate to have been a participant in the two day discussion on December 23-24, 2011, on the issue of the need for the working class to take political power in its hands and the proposed methods for achieving this.
Dear Editor
Dear Editor
Sir,
According to the news paper reports Punjab & Haryana High Court has put the court put the Department of Atomic Energy, Nuclear Power Corporation and Union Ministry of Environment and Forest on notice seeking their reply on the contentions raised on the project.
Dear Editor MEL,
Sir,
Dear Editor,
I read the New Year's message of comrade Lal Singh. It inspires us to work even harder for the proletarian revolution. The whole world is caught in a deep crisis. The burden of the crisis is being shifted on to the backs of the working class. The danger of imperialist wars is spreading as also imperialism and fascism.
Dear Editor,
Dear Sir,
I read the new year's message of comrade Lal SIngh in the last issue and liked it very much. Our party has developed the line based on Marxism-Leninism based on the conditions existing in our country. We must never waver from this path. I am happy that we have been moving ahead.
Sir,
Sir,
Sir,
Sir,
Sir,
Respected editor MEL,
Respected editor,
Sir,
Dear Sir,
I thank the CGPI for so succinctly bringing out important lessons from the gruesome massacre of Sikhs in 1984.
Here I would like to bring out how the state and its apologists have been trying to confuse and put the blame on the people, while absolving those guilty of such massacres.
Sir,
Dear Editor,
Dear Editor,
I am writing to thank you for the first in the series of views of representatives of the working class in the form of an interview with Com. Lal Singh, General Secretary of the CGPI in the October 16-31, 2011 issue of MEL. The series will be a landmark contribution to the struggle for the liberation of India through the offices of the working class.
The Editor,
It is with great joy that I read the report in the columns of the September 16-30, 2011 issue of MEL on the public meeting in Sirsa, Haryana held on August 28, 2011 that deliberated on several questions facing the people of India, and in particular on the question of `How Can People Come to Power?'
The Editor,
At the heart of the crisis is the question as to what constitutes political power in India, what is the genesis of the power, and the question of who wields it and for what purpose. This question is directly related to the question of the 1950 Constitution of India, and what its central premises are. This essence of the latter is the defence of a viciously exploitative system that defends the right of a miniscule minority to exploit the resources and the labour of the vast majority, and the ascendancy of the right of private property.
The Indian state and its activities are innately violent and its sole response to any struggle is one of wielding the big stick. This state derives its legitimacy as the successor to the colonial British state which looked upon the people of India as its enemy. The discussion must therefore begin as to what should constitute a modern state and what its duties and rights are. Is it so that the Indian state can carry on by dint of its existence, or must it have some other reason for its existence? Has the state lived up to its duties and can therefore claim to have rights?
Sir,
Sir,
I read with great interest the in-depth article entitled ``What is the trouble with Air India and who is the trouble-maker?'' posted on the party web-site on the 17th of July 2011.
I have gathered the following from the article which I would like to express in bullet points as follows:
Dear Editor,
I found the article in MEL of 1st to 15th july on the subject of Land Aquisition very thought provoking.
Dear Editor,
The media wants to portray the defeat of the Left parties in West Bengal and Kerala as the defeat of communists. The people need to assess correctly as to whose defeat it really is.
The Delhi High Court ordered the striking pilots back to work by declaring the strike illegal, and is initiating contempt proceedings since its order was not obeyed. It has remarked that if its orders are not obeyed, then it would lead to anarchy and a discrediting of the institution, and then everyone would do as they liked. Why does not the Court also ask this of the management, and in particular of the MD, Mr. Arvind Jadhav? The latter has now been named in several allegations amounting to corruption of the worst sort, including those listed in the article, and more recently in the sale of valuable land to private players.
The statement also clearly enunciates what the role of communists such as the CGPI is during the time of elections, which is to advance the cause of class struggle and the proletarian revolution.
The Editor, Sir, It gives me great pleasure to read the report on the speech of Com. Prakash Rao made in Delhi on April 10, 2011 on the occasion of a Public Consultation on the way forward to ensure people's control over the political system, process and institutions.
Dear Editor
Solution lies in changing the system
Dear Sir/Madam,
I read wih great interest on the CGPI website the 20th March statement on Tamil Nadu elections titled Solution lies in changing the system, not merely the party in power. It is a bold statement that calls a spade a spade.
Sir,
I am writing to thank you for the article entitled "Sri Krishna Committee submits report on Telangana: Condemn the deliberate inflaming of passions among the people!'' in the columns of the January 16-31, 2011 issue of Mazdoor Ekta Lehar. The article must be commended on many points, including its simple and scientific language, historical accuracy and the complete honesty of purpose.
Sir, I am writing to thank you for carrying the article entitled ``Indo-US strategic alliance is an imperialist alliance! It is against the interests of India and world’s peoples”. I would like to point out that the article is in the finest tradition of Marxism-Leninism analyzing the ground realities of the world situation.
Sir, I am writing to thank you for carrying the report on the Fourth Congress of the Communist Ghadar Party of India that took place in October 2010. The Congress has taken place as we approach the thirtieth anniversary of the founding of our revolutionary and patriotic party, and in the midst of the all round crisis of credibility of the bourgeoisie, its politics and its state. This has also been a period when the objective conditions for revolution have been ripening, whereas it is also the one where the subjective conditions have been definitely lagging behind.
Sir, I found the article entitled ``The struggle for human rights is in essence the struggle for proletarian democracy’’ in the December 1-15, 2010 issue of MEL to be of immense value and educational. It is in the highest tradition of scientific analysis of which the CGPI is the fountainhead. It is an article that is necessarily partisan as the CGPI is the vanguard of the working class.
The Editor, Apropos the article entitled 'Kashmir - an exposure of the real face of Indian democracy’, I am writing to express my thanks to the CGPI for its bold and categorical stand on the matter. Written in the wake of the 'all-party’ delegation’s visit to Srinagar to supposedly appraise itself of the situation, the article captured in no uncertain terms that the mask of Indian democracy has been torn apart by the thousands of brave men, women and children who have come out into the streets to express their anger against continuous and increased repression under the hands of the state.
The Editor,
Dear Editor,
I am very thankful to you for the important, deeply researched and informative article entitled "The struggle against fascism and imperialism – an integral part of the proletarian revolution'' in the August 1-15, 2010 issue of MEL.
Dear Editor,
I am writing to thank you for publishing the article entitled ``Independence without social revolution has only benefited the capitalist minority'' in the August 1-15, 2010 issue of Mazdoor Ekta Lehar.
Dear Sir, I am writing to support the call given in the article of the July 16-31, 2010 issue of PV entitled "The people of India are demanding - "take measures to control prices, or quit!"''. I would also like to join the CGPI in extending its congratulations to the people of India for carrying out the successful Bharat Bandh on July 5, 2010.
Sir,
I thank you for the informative and principled editorial in the July 1-15, 2010 issue of PV entitled 'Ghost of Bhopal and the deepening credibility crisis'.
Sir, I am writing to thank you for the timely and educative article entitled `UPA Government and the Working Class: Attacking workers in the name of "aam aadmi"' published in theJune 16-30, 2010 issue of People's Voice.
Sir, The demands of the Central and Western Railway motormen are totally just. It is the worst kind of exploitation to keep workers on contract when they have been working continuously for over 20 years. It is indeed a strange principle that is applied in our country. Those in the highest positions are not at all accountable, they are paid the highest salaries and are afforded all kinds of perquisites, and they are permanent employees! On the other hand, workers at the lowest rung who are paid an apology of a wage have the sword of contractual employment forever hanging over their heads - this is the worst kind of exploitation.
Sir, I am writing to express my support to the workers of Air India in their struggle against the dictatorial management authorities as well as the Minister for Civil Aviation, towards redressal of their genuine grievances. I fully endorse the demand raised by CGPI that the termination and suspension of Air India Union activists be immediately revoked. The attacks on the unions of workers in terms of “derecognition” and sealing of offices must be immediately ended.
Sir,Operation Blue Star was the opening of the flood gates to a massive onslaught that would be launched against Sikhs in the coming months and years, which would tear asunder the struggles of the peasantry and the common working people. The use of massive violence then paved the path to the dovetailing of the people of India into the agenda of the bourgeoisie.
Sir, I am writing to thank the Central Committee of the Communist Ghadar Party of India for its very pointed and principled statement entitled ``Government sneaks in privatisation in the name of disinvestment: Working class must oppose privatization in all its forms.’’
Sir, I would like to join the CC of the CGPI in extending warm greetings to the working class on May Day 2010 and would like to second its call in its statement entitled “Employment, food, shelter; education, health care; water and electricity are our Rights!’’
The Editor,
I am extremely thankful to you for carrying the statement of the CC of the CGPI entitled 'Step up the struggle to assert the claims of labour on the social surplus!' in the April 1-15 issue of PV.
Dear Editor,
Petrol Prices in Delhi | % of sale price |
Price without duties and taxes | 43 |
Subsidy/Under recovery | 10 |
Sales Tax | 15 |
Custom duty | 1 |
Excise duty | 31 |
Total | 100 |
When the vast sections of our country are seriously impacted by the ruthless price rise and its consequences, our government in its recent budget has not shown any kind of sympathy or concern to their plight. This whole budget has been oriented towards facilitating further maximizing profits for the capitalists.
Sir, I am very grateful to the CGPI for publishing highly informative and timely article entitled ``Rapid militarisation to stake claim as a world class imperialist power’’ in the February 1-15, 2010 issue of PV. There are many important and interesting points that have been emphasized in this article.
Sir, I would like to join the CGPI in its solemn observation of the tenth anniversary of the Modern Foods struggle and express my thanks for posting an article on the subject in the Feb. 16-28, 2010 issue of PV. There are events of this kind that need to be remembered as they represent milestones in the class struggle that is being waged in the country.
Sir,
The statement of the CC of the CGPI dated January 10, 2010 entitled `Too long have we suffered this colonial style Republic! Working class must reconstitute the Indian Union! ' is an important contribution in the highest tradition of Marxism-Leninism.
The statement on the current geo-political development following the Mumbai attacks should serve as an eye-opener to all those who have any illusions about the aims of the US imperialists and their collaborators in south Asia.
The first part of this pamphlet is an analysis of facts and phenomena to identify and expose the real aims behind the Note Ban. The second part is devoted to a critical appraisal of the government’s claims that it will reduce inequality, corruption and terrorism. The third part is what Communist Ghadar Party believes is the real solution to these problems and the immediate program of action towards that solution.

A Presentation of Communist Ghadar Party of India
100 years ago Ghadar Party was formed by Indians in the US.It was historic milestone in our anti-colonial struggle.
The goal of this party was to organise a revolution to liberate our motherland from British servitude and establish a free and independent India with equal rights for all. It believed this to be the necessary condition for our people to hold their heads high anywhere in the world.
