Based on their decision many of the activists of bodies have filed the nomination papers of Wilson and done the ground work to put him up as a candidate for the elections, scheduled to take place on April 13.

Based on the decision of these people’s committees as well as on the work Com. They have printed tens and thousands of leaflets calling on the people to support and elect Wilson as their representative.

Today on 3rd of April, the election campaign work has started in full steam. Activists have organized a van which was decorated with Com. Wilson’s  photo and with slogans for the victory of People’s power,. Campaign was inaugurated by the veteran leader Com. Saravanan of Peasants and Makkalatchi Iyakkam, who has stressed the urgent necessity for people’s power replacing the rule of the minority capitalists class. He greeted the people of the region for putting forward Wilson as their candidate for the elections. He was very confident that with the support of the working people of this region, Wilson will win the elections and represent their problems in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly.

Van was filled with activists and supporters of Makkalatchi Iyakkam, Communist Ghadar Party of India, Workers Unity movement, and others. Van fitted with mike and speaker set, went from place to place, stopped at key junction points. Comrades distributed the leaflets of the candidate to the surrounding people. Slogans were raised in support of the candidate and People’ power. They also distributed leaflets issued by CGPI in support of the candidate.

CGPI leaflet has explained the nature of the current system as rule of monopoly capitalists in the service of the capitalist class. If the problems of the people were to be resolved, then the workers and peasants of our country have to come to power. It has called on all workers and peasants to get organized to win the power from the hands of the self serving capitalists. These leaflets were received by the people with great enthusiasm.

Many workers and people who knew Wilson for many years as an activist and a fighter met the caravan during the journey and greeted the activists. They have promised to give their votes to Wilson and support the cause of this campaign.

Activists held many street corner meetings in Buthan Sandhai, Melpuram, Kunjaluvilai and in the end at Kaliyal.

Our speakers explained to the people on the character of the fronts led by DMK and AIDMK. One after another in turns they have come to power and served the capitalists with glee. Speakers stressed the need to defeat these fronts if we were to win our rights. Many people have greeted the activists and promised to take the message to others.

First day of the campaign has brought out correct line of the party as it had overwhelming support of the people.
