Recurrent tragedies of infant and child deaths: Criminal neglect of the country’s health system

The recent tragedy in Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh and the earlier many such tragedies which occur with predictable frequency, some reported, some highlighted, and mostly ignored and forgotten are the hallmark of present public health system in India. It has once again exposed the criminal callousness of the state authorities and those who rule.

Government maneuvers over Food Security Bill: Only a modern universal public distribution system can guarantee the right to food!

The first meeting of an expert group on food took place on 3rd December, 2010. This expert group has been set up by the Prime Minister to examine the recommendations of the National Advisory Council (NAC) on the proposed National Food Security Bill.

Hail the Fourth Congress of our Party

Sir, I am writing to thank you for carrying the report on the Fourth Congress of the Communist Ghadar Party of India that took place in October 2010. The Congress has taken place as we approach the thirtieth anniversary of the founding of our revolutionary and patriotic party, and in the midst of the all round crisis of credibility of the bourgeoisie, its politics and its state. This has also been a period when the objective conditions for revolution have been ripening, whereas it is also the one where the subjective conditions have been definitely lagging behind.

Massive protest at the Israeli Embassy

On June 4, 2010 several peoples' organizations in Delhi organized a massive protest outside the Israeli embassy against the attack of the Israeli state on the aid ship which was trying to reach the 15 lakh people trapped by the three year long occupation of the Gaza strip. Workers, youth, women, intelligentsia, reporters, human rights activists as well as political and social activists participated in the protest in large numbers.

Condemn the US “surge” offensive in Afghanistan!

Thousands of US soldiers armed to the teeth with the deadliest weaponry available today began a massive ‘surge’ offensive in Afghanistan in the second week of February 2010 to wipe out centers of Afghan resistance to the occupation forces. According to the US and NATO occupation forces, the aim is to “liberate” various regions from “Taliban Control”. In the course of this latest offensive, hundreds of civilians, including women and childen, have been killed.  Mazdoor Ekta Lehar condemns this latest offensive of the US imperialists and its allies.
