South Korean railway workers strike against privatization

More than 15,000 workers, i.e. about 80% of the work force of the state owned Korea Railroad Corporation (Korail) went on strike on December 9, protesting against steps that are being widely perceived as preliminary to privatizing the rail service – a plan by the management to sell off to private hands the most profitable slice of its business.

Opening up of retail trade to foreign giant corporations

The Government of India is trying to mislead the toiling majority of people by claiming that capitalist monopolies in retail will help to control food prices. The line pursued by the CPI(M) and the Left Front it leads have been a biggest block to this Navnirman.

Hail the Fourth Congress of our Party

Sir, I am writing to thank you for carrying the report on the Fourth Congress of the Communist Ghadar Party of India that took place in October 2010. The Congress has taken place as we approach the thirtieth anniversary of the founding of our revolutionary and patriotic party, and in the midst of the all round crisis of credibility of the bourgeoisie, its politics and its state.
