Sovereignty at risk

Dear Editor,

I would like to congratulate the Party for having brought out the fraudulent nature of our "independence". While it is true that we are not directly governed by the British colonial powers any longer, we are being exploited by Indian imperialists through the mainstream political parties. They are gambling with the resources and wealth of our country that is generated by the people of our country so that they can gain profits and are increasingly enticing foreign capitalists to our country. How can this be independence? Would an independent human being willingly gamble away his/her freedom? The fact that we are not free from exploitation, violence, oppression and deprivation shows that we are still enslaved albeit in an imperialist system. As the statement says, we need a new Constitution that has been made by the people and we need to transform the economy from a capitalist economy to a socialist economy for the benefit of workers and peasants in India. I am thankful to the Party for revealing the farce of the 68th Independence Day celebrations through a simple explanation of the real history of India.

I am writing to thank the CC of the CGPI for its principled and bold statement entitled `Sovereignty of India is at risk under the rule of the bourgeoisie’ issued on the 13th of August, 2014 to mark the occasion of the 68th anniversary of independence from British rule.  The statement discusses the broad background for the attainment of independence and the subsequent emergence of the Indian bourgeoisie under capitalism as an imperialist bourgeoisie.  The subject matter is a difficult one and is one of discussion in the coming months and years as the world situation is changing dramatically as the full instability sown by the destruction of the bipolar world is playing out.

All the principles of the past established through decades of struggle by brave revolutionary struggles have been through overboard by imperialist intrigue and encirclement.  In particular, in the recent past the advance of imperialism through the sowing of the seeds of civil wars in North Africa and in the near east have a grave portent for all the peoples of the world.  Closer to home, our most important neighbor Pakistan is suffering from the consequences of its ruling circles inviting the Anglo-American embrace in the past decades.  Not only is the country on the brink of disintegration in the long run, but also is a victim of the trampling of its sovereignty on a daily basis by drone attacks of its citizens, through an illegal policy of so called targeted attacks by the Obama administration.

What lies ahead for the people of India and for the peoples of the world in this environment?  What stand should the people take when its ruling circles do not raise a voice against such atrocities, but rather are playing a dirty game to be a second fiddle to such leadership?  The comes from the recognition that these dangers are a consequence of the powerless condition of the people of India.  This situation can meet a resolution only when there is unity around a plank that demands change as a necessity, to put an end to this powerless condition.  The situation is countered only when the peoples of the region realize that it is imperialism and the ruling circles within the countries that is the enemy.  A unified plank around this is the way forward.

I am writing to second the call of the CC of the CGPI to unify the struggles of the peoples of the region against their common enemy, to oppose military interference, to oppose US imperialism and to stop the advance of world capital and to put an end to the programme of liberalization and privatization.

Election manifesto of a CGPI supported candidate for Lok SabhaParties of the capitalist class claim that there is no alternative to the program of globalisation, liberalisation and privatisation. The truth is that there IS an alternative. The alternative is to reorient the economy to fulfil people’s needs instead of fulfilling capitalist greed. This is the program for the Navnirman of India.

Manifesto 2014Unite around the program to reconstitute the Indian Republic and reorient the economy to ensure prosperity and protection for all!

There is growing realisation among workers, peasants and other self-employed people that the program of liberalisation and privatisation only serves to enrich an exploiting minority at their expense. Mass resistance is growing to this anti-worker, anti-peasant and anti-national program.
