In order to bring people to power

Vote for the candidates selected by the people

Not for those imposed on us by political parties

Statement of Lok Raj Sangathan’s Rajasthan unit on the occasion of the nagarpalika elections

Elections to the nagarpalikas are being held in Rajasthan on 17th August. Political parties have awarded tickets to their candidates for standing in the elections. Some individuals, who have not been given tickets by these parties and others who have been selected by people who are angry with the party system, are also standing.

In this situation, LRS has called on the people

  • to defeat those candidates who have been imposed on the people by the political parties, and to vote for those who have been selected by the people
  • to demand an affidavit from the candidate that he/she will resign if 70% or more people of the ward are dissatisfied with his/her work, and that he/she will obtain the agreement of the people in the ward for expenditure on programmes from the budget allocations
  • to set up lok samitis in every mohalla; to hold periodic meetings in which discussion on development works is carried out in front of the Corporator; to prioritise future works and fix the responsibility of the Corporator.

Parties of the capitalist class claim that there is no
alternative to the program of globalisation, liberalisation
and privatisation. The truth is thatthere IS an alternative.

The alternative is to reorient the economy to fulfil people’s
needs instead of fulfilling capitalist greed. This is the
program for the Navnirman of India.
