Call for Unity around the Revolutionary Alternative
The occasion of the 38th birth anniversary of the Communist Ghadar Party of India was celebrated in Delhi, Mahrashtra, Tamil Nadu and other parts of the country, and in Toronto and other cities abroad on or around 25th December, 2018. An audi-visual presentation on the “Call of Ghadaris: Revolution” was followed by the speech of General Secretary, Comrade Lal Singh, which was read out on his behalf.
In the first half hour, the words and deeds of the Ghadaris and their followers, including Shaheed Bhagat Singh, resonated in the brains of all the participants. Then came the call of Comrade Lal Singh, which was to act right now. He called on all to act today like the Ghadaris acted in their time. He issued a bold call to all Indian communists and to all progressive women and men of conscience, to unite around the struggle for the Navnirman of India.
The ruling class will once again try to manipulate and divert the rising anger and opposition among the workers, peasants, women and youth. The capitalist monopoly houses are preparing to use the Lok Sabha elections of 2019 to once again divide the people along the lines of the rivalry between BJP and Congress Party. There are disgruntled sections among capitalists and landlords who are trying to promote a non-BJP and non-Congress Federal Front. In such a situation, Communist Ghadar Party has issued a bold call for a revolutionary alternative, aimed at establishing workers’ and peasants’ rule and laying a new foundation for India.
The presentation on the exploits of the Hindustan Ghadar Party, and the call of the General Secretary of the Communist Ghadar Party of India, was followed by a large number of interventions from the floor. Numerous members, supporters and friends expressed themselves, reflecting their individual experiences and thoughts. They reaffirmed the necessity to restore communist unity in the course of building broad political unity around the program for human-centred reorientation of the economy and political empowerment of the people.
All the meetings to commemorate the 38th birth anniversary of the Party concluded in high spirits, with all participants determined to ensure a breakthrough in 2019, a qualitative leap for the communist movement and the struggle for India’s liberation.
