NATO escalates war preparations

The North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) organised a summit on July 8 and 9, 2016 in Warsaw, Poland. The US imperialists used the Summit to vigorously push ahead with militarisation of Eastern Europe and stepped up preparations targeting Russia. The summit also decided to escalate NATO led military interventions targeting Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and the countries and peoples of Africa.

Still Fighting for Justice – 4 years on

On 18th July 2016, the fourth anniversary of violence in the Manesar plant Maruti Suzuki, several hundred workers and representatives of trade unions from factories in the Gurgaon-Manesar-Bawal automobile region as well as local representatives of national level federations joined a massive protest demonstration in Gurgaon. The demonstration from Rajiv Chowk to the Mini Secretariat was organised and led by the Maruti Suzuki Mazdoor Sangh.

Successful Convention of Trade Unions in South Delhi

A convention of various trade unions in the South Delhi area was organised on 17th July 2016 as part of the preparatory work towards making the 2nd September general strike a success. AITUC, CITU, INTUC, AIUTUC, General Mazdoor Trade Union, Delhi Plumbers Association, Allied Industrial Workers Union, Press Karmachari Mazdoor Union, Delhi Construction Workers Union, Indian Steel and Metal Workers Union, representatives of several other unions and workers participated with Mazdoor Ekta Committee in the Convention.

Condemn persecution of youth in the name of “curbing terrorism”!

The arrest of 5 youth in Hyderabad on charges of “terrorism”, on June 29, during the holy month of Ramzan, has left the community shocked and the families of the youth shattered. It is being alleged by the police that they are sympathizers of the ISIS. However, local residents have pointed out that such arrests are part of a regular pattern of police picking up youth on flimsy grounds and putting them behind bars for years, with no actual evidence to implicate them in any crime.

Media blockade in Kashmir

Condemn the attempt of the state to silence the voices of protest of the Kashmiri people!

On July 16, police raided the offices and printing presses of some of the major daily newspapers in the Kashmir Valley late at night, confiscated the printed issues of the newspapers and arrested their employees. From July 16-21, a complete ban on all printed newspapers was imposed throughout the Kashmir Valley.

100 years ago Ghadar Party was formed by Indians in the US.It was historic milestone in our anti-colonial struggle.

The goal of this party was to organise a revolution to liberate our motherland from British servitude and establish a free and independent India with equal rights for all. It believed this to be the necessary condition for our people to hold their heads high anywhere in the world.
