Central trade unions have decided to organize protest actions all over the country on March 15.
Through this all-India protest action, the trade unions will show their resolve to step up the struggle against the anti-worker, anti-peasant, anti-national and anti-social offensive of the ruling class.

The trade unions have pointed out that the Central government has refused to fulfill any of the demands of the working class that have been raised in the 12 point charter of demands. On the contrary, it has intensified the attacks on the working class. It is completely casualising employment conditions by amending the Contract Labour Act and introducing fixed term employment.
Further, the trade unions have expressed their strong opposition to the stepped up program of privatisation. Privatisation of railways, opening up of coal mining to private and foreign companies without any restriction whatsoever, privatisation as well as destruction of defence production network through widespread outsourcing, thereby dismantling almost half of the ordnance factories – are some examples of the gross anti-people and anti-national actions of the government. The government has worked hand in glove with the private corporates to assist these corporates to loot the public sector banks.
The trade unions have condemned the union budget 2018-19 as anti-worker and anti-people. The government is trying to deceive the masses through populist slogans, without making any resource allocations.
The workers and federations of coal and transport have been preparing for united industry-wide actions to be undertaken shortly. All the federations of defence production workers have jointly decided to go on an all-India strike on March 15. Many more sectoral actions are in the offing.
The trade unions have called upon all workers and working people, irrespective of their affiliation, to vigorously participate in the All-India Protest Day on March 15.
Through the protest action, workers will express their solidarity with the striking defence production workers and their complete opposition to the anti-national program of defence sector privatisation. They will expose the anti-worker anti-peasant Union Budget.
