Statement of the Communist Ghadar Party of India, August 7 2012

On Sunday August 5, 2012, six people were shot dead and three others criticially injured, in a racist and terrorist attack targeted at people of the Sikh community. Sikh families of the Milwaukee (US) suburb were participating in their weekly religious and social function at their Gurudwara when they became the targeted victims of this attack. The Communist Ghadar Party of India condemns this dastardly massacre. The Communist Ghadar Party of India extends its profound sympathies with the families of those who lost their lives or have suffered grievious injuries.

In Delhi, Jalandhar, Amritsar and other places, as well as in many places in North America, and Britain, people have come out onto the streets to express their outrage at this massacre. People have blamed the US government for this massacre. People are not accepting US President Barrack Obama's words of "sympathy".

The gunman who carried out the killing was a 40 year old ex US army officer who served in the army for 6 years till 1998 and lived in the area. He is supposed to have served in "psy-ops" (psychological operation). (Psy-ops deal with spreading disinformation and misinformation about other countries and peoples, in order to advance US imperialist interests.) The US government is squarely responsible for this racist and terrorist massacre. The US government has always carried out racist and fascist attacks on select immigrant communities at different times.

Since the end of the Cold War, and especially since 9/11, US imperialism has launched a world wide campaign in the name of "war against terrorism" against people of the Muslim faith painting all Muslims as terrorists and painting various Islamic countries as the fountainhead of terrorism. This "war against terrorism" has been aimed at advancing the US domination over the whole world. This targeting of people of Muslim faith has not only been communal, it has also been racist. Since the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in New York, there have been numerous incidents of murder of Sikhs in the US. All people of South Asian and West Asian origin have become targets of escalated racist attacks.

In addition to this, the Obama administration has been carrying out continuos propaganda against India, China etc, blaming these countries for the economic crisis in the US, and blaming the people of these coutnries for taking away American jobs. Whether blamed as responsible for terrorism or unemployment, immigrants have being deliberately targeted. This is a typical policy of the imperialist bourgeoisie in countries like US, Canada, Britain etc to target immigrant communities and divert the anger of the masses of workers from the source of their problems, the capitalist system and the state.

Barrack Obama has declared the massacre of Sikhs in Milwaukee as an "act of internal terrorism". It can be expected that in coming days, the US state will manufacture information to show that some gang of neo nazis were behind this attack. The Indian immigrant community in US must not be fooled by this.

One aim of this declaration is to absolve the US state of its responsibility of not only not ensuring the security of the people, but actively carrying out hate campaigns through psy-ops against different communities and peoples.

There is also another equally important aim. By declaring it as an "act of internal terrorism", the Obama administration is using this attack as part of stepping up the "war against terror" against the American working class and people. The attack on the people in the Gurudwara comes just a few weeks after the ghastly shootout at the premier of a film in the US. The US government has used the "war against terrorism" to terrorise the American people into accepting fascist laws that infringe on their democratic rights and civil liberties. Since 9/11, a host of fascist laws have been passed in the US in the name of "homeland security" to allegedly protect American society from terrorism. In recent years, the working masses have been coming onto the streets of the US in protest against the imperialist wars launched by the US, the attacks on the livelihood and rights of the workers, the bailout of the big banks and so on. The US bourgeoisie desperately needs to crush this mounting struggle, and paralyse the working masses through terrorist attacks and fascist laws.

The Communist Ghadar Party of India condemns the US state for the terrible massacre of innocent Sikhs in Milwaukee and the escalated racist and fascist onslaught on the people.

Call of the Central Committee of Communist Ghadar Party of India, 30th August, 2012

Working class representatives from all over the country are gathering on 4th September, at a time when a titanic struggle is going on in our country. The struggle is between the majority of toiling and exploited people and a minority of exploiters. It is between the majority whose labour expands wealth and the minority who enjoy the fruits of wealth creation on the basis of their private property and positions of power.
