Andhra Pradesh teachers want investment in Municipal Schools

Teachers of Municipal Schools in Andhra Pradesh have been agitating for improvement in the facilities and running of these schools. The teachers have pointed out that even though various schools have been included in the so called "success school program", nothing has changed on the ground. Not even a single post has been sanctioned in these schools, although the programme was launched with much fanfare by inaugurating additional sections and introducing the syllabi in English medium. More than 1,000 teacher posts in municipal schools across the state have remained vacant for several years.
