Attack on nurses in Ahmedabad

Nearly 200 nurses were arrested in Ahmedabad on August 11, 2010, for agitating for their rights. The nurses of UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Center at Civil Hospital were protesting the suspension order issued to three of their colleagues for forming a union.

Nearly 200 nurses were arrested in Ahmedabad on August 11, 2010, for agitating for their rights. The nurses of UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Center at Civil Hospital were protesting the suspension order issued to three of their colleagues for forming a union.

Earlier, on August 5, the institutes nursing staff had formed a union. The management of the Hospital is trying to use student nurses hired from outside to break the strike.
