Communist parties condemn the attempts of the State to spread hatred and terror

Leaders and activists of thumbe Communist Party of India, Communist Party of India (Marxist), Communist Ghadar Party of India, Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist)-Liberation, Socialist Unity Centre of India (Communist), Revolutionary Socialist Party of India and All India Forward Bloc participated in a joint demonstration from Jantar Mantar to Parliament, on March 9. The demonstration was organized to protest against the systematic campaign organized by the state, to spread terror and hatred among people, following the electoral victory of the BJP in the Tripura state assembly elections.

The participants raised slogans such as “Down with state terrorism!”, “An attack on one is an attack on all!”, “Down with attacks on the right to conscience!”, “Down with attacks on the rights of people!”, “The capitalist ruling class is the enemy of the unity and fraternity of our people!”, “Divide and rule: preferred policy of the Indian state!”, “Unite against state organized communal violence and state terrorism!”. They held high banners and placards declaring their resolve to resist the growing attacks on our livelihood and rights and the attempts to break our fighting unity.

A public rally was held at parliament, which was addressed by the leaders of the communist parties. Comrade D.Raja of the CPI, Comrade Prakash Karat of the CPI(M), Comrade Kavita Krishnan of the CPI(ML)-Liberation, Comrade Pran Sharma of the SUCI(C), Comrade Amarendra Sharma of the AIFB and Comrade Prakash Rao of the CGPI addressed the rally.

Speakers condemned the savage attacks on communists and trade union activists as well as on the offices of the CPI(M) in Tripura. They condemned the vandalizing of statues of Lenin, Periyar, Ambedkar and Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and the systematic effort by the rulers, to inflame passions and set people against each other. They called for united action to resist these attacks.

Comrade Prakash Rao of the CGPI pointed out that the rule of the capitalist class headed by about 150 monopoly houses is responsible for all the problems of our people. They have to resort to the criminal method of dividing the people and diverting them, in order to carry out their exploitative rule. They bring to power one or another of their trusted political parties, to implement their anti-worker, anti-peasant, anti-national and anti-social program of globalization through liberalization and privatization. He called for a united struggle against sectarian violence and terror with the aim of establishing a new state that will ensure prosperity and security for all, defend the right to conscience of every person and punish all those who try to divide the people and spread hatred and violence.
