Demonstration for clearing of stagnant water

On 9 July, 2019, residents of Ramgad village, Hanumangad district in Rajasthan gathered in front of the subdivision office in demonstration demanding a solution for the issue of stagnant water.

Residents of the village participated in the demonstration in large numbers, fiercely raising slogans against the panchayat administration.

Residents explained that a mega highway had been built which goes through Ramgad and connects to Ujalwas. The level of the road is incorrect, because of which water is not drained and causes grave issues due to collection of stagnant water.

They said that the development officer had been made aware of the situation just a few days prior to the demonstration through submission of a memorandum.

In spite of this no action was taken on submission the memorandum. Owing to the inaction, on the evening of 15 July with the first monsoon rain the village was flooded. People faced loss of homes and crops.

In the memorandum, residents have demanded enquiry into the short-sighted construction work carried out and preparation of a master plan for proper water drainage

Manifesto 2014There is growing realisation among workers, peasants and other self-employed people that the program of liberalisation and privatisation only serves to enrich an exploiting minority at their expense. Mass resistance is growing to this anti-worker, anti-peasant and anti-national program. However, the working class is being prevented from realizing its potential as the leader of all the exploited, and as the grave-digger of capitalism, by those in the communist movement who are spreading harmful illusions and compromising the class struggle.
