Message to the Ghadari Mela in Toronto

Comrade Lal Singh, General Secretary, Communist Ghadar Party of India, Delhi, 26th September, 2009

My dear comrades and friends,

I am writing to convey revolutionary greetings and best wishes for the success of the Ghadari Mela, 2009, from all members of the Communist Ghadar Party of India.  Our party considers you as part of the caravan of political and cultural forces that are striving to open the path for the progress of Indian society and of all peoples and nations in the world.

The present world context is overcast with doom and gloom that the capitalist class is spreading, with its system caught in a deep all-sided crisis.  The future lies in the hands of the working class and peoples of all countries who are fighting against the bourgeois offensive.  The CGPI is committed to build the political unity of all those opposed to racism and communalism, to capitalist exploitation, corporate domination, imperialist war and plunder, to all forms of social and national oppression, cultural aggression and degeneration that this system engenders.

In the midst of the gloom and doom scenario that casts its shadow on the capitalist world, events like the Ghadari Mela represent bright rays of the SUN that is bound to shine for the peoples one day.  The Mela represents the best of our revolutionary traditions, which have been upheld by generations of patriots among the South Asians resident in Canada.

It is a very creditable effort on the part of the Ghadar Heritage Organization to keep up the tradition of our people getting together for a mass sports and cultural festival each year.  The Mela has come to mean a lot to many people, and a source of inspiration and education for the youth in the community.

Wishing 100 percent success to the Mela and the Ghadar Heritage Organization!

Lal Salaam!

Yours sincerely and affectionately,

Comrade Lal Singh
