Statement of Mazdoor Ekta Committee, November 23, 2022

Electricity workers have gathered in large numbers at Ram Lila Maidan in Delhi, to oppose the Electricity Amendment Bill 2022. Workers of many other sectors have also come here to extend their support to the struggle. The struggle of the electricity workers is an important component of the struggle against privatisation, that is raging all over the country.

Third meeting on “Crisis of Agriculture and its solution”

“Food is an essential requirement of society, so those who produce food must be assured of a secure livelihood. But if large sections of the society are under-fed and those who produce food are driven to suicide due to lack of a secure livelihood, then that is a definite sign of the crisis.” With these opening remarks, Birju Nayak, secretary of Mazdoor Ekta Committee began his address to the third meeting on ‘Crisis of Agriculture and its solution’ organised by Mazdoor Ekta Committee (MEC) on October 20.

Militant opposition without let up against Electricity (Amendment) Bill 2021

The Electricity (Amendment) Bill, 2021 which was to have been approved by the Cabinet and introduced in the monsoon session of Parliament has been facing severe opposition from the electricity sector workers, from kisans and other consumers.
