On 2nd August 2022, electricity sector workers from all corners of the country participated in a National Convention held at the Constitution Club in New Delhi to protest against the Electricity (Amendment) Bill 2022. The convention was organized by the National Coordination Committee of Electricity Employees and Engineers (NCCOEEE).

The NCCOEEE (National Coordination Committee of Electricity Employees and Engineers) held a convention on March 19, 2022 at Chandigarh. The convention was co-organised by UT Electricity Engineers Union. The Convention was held to sum up the experiences of the heroic strike struggle that the electricity employees and engineers in Chandigarh had waged from February 22-24, 2022 and to take forward the struggle.

On 11th January 2022, the workers of the Electricity Department of the Union Territory (UT) of Chandigarh held a massive rally and demonstration, under the banner of the UT Powermen Union, to oppose the privatisation of electricity distribution in the UT. They also demanded the implementation of revision of pay scales and the release of the Promotion Orders of the employees. These orders had been stopped despite the availability of posts and eligibility.
