The chief guests at the meeting included comrade Dunichand, President of Lok Raj Sangathan, Haryana, special guest Deputy Sarpanch Chetram Lakesar and P.P Singh, Assist Manager of State Bank of India.

The meeting began with loud revolutionary slogans and laying a wreath in memory of Shaheed Bhagat Singh. The speakers talked about the importance of Shaheed Bhagat Singh’s ideology in today’s perspective.

Bhup Singh of the Rajasthan Teachers Association (Progressive) said that those who occupy the ruling positions in the State are serving the interests of the corporate world, and this is the reason for the pitiful state of affairs today. Kanhaiya Laal Jain said that the only path to put an end to the capitalist state machinery once and for all is the path propagated by Bhagat Singh. Comrade Manoj Sharma spoke about capitalism and communalism and touched the gathering by his revolutionary poetry.

Comrade Omprakash reiterated the resolve to expose the extravagance of the stakeholders in the capitalist system like the media. Professor Sunil Swami said that our so called independence is nothing but the transfer of power from the white sahebs to the brown sahebs and he stressed on the important of being cautious about believing the sold out media. Comrade Maniram Lakesar said that the capitalist system is responsible for inflation, unemployment, hunger and farmers’ suicides. He appealed to all to unite and struggle together against the capitalist system.

All-India Vice President of Lok Raj Sangathan, Comrade Hanuman Prasad Sharma spoke elaborately on the ideology of Bhagat Singh. He said that the first struggle for independent took place in 1857 and that the Hindustan Ghadar Party took inspiration from this struggle for independence in order to end British imperialism. Bhagat Singh and his revolutionary comrades established the Hindustan Socialist Republican Association with the very same aim. Shaheed Bhagat Singh and his revolutionary comrades made matters defficult for British Imperialism. The British rulers were worried and collaborated with the upper class of British educated Indians who sympathized with British imperialism. They transferred power to this collaborating class, after establishing the Constituent Assembly, looking into the suggestions of the Tata-Birla Committee for running the state, and in 1947 dividing the people on communal basis into the two countries of India and Pakistan.

He stated that India has a capitalist system, which is based on the exploitation of the working class. The Indian capitalists have joined the imperialist race and are allowing Indian and foreign companies to openly loot the country. The policy of privatization and liberalization is being further amplified. Opportunities for employment are being ended in every sector and the exploitation of workers and peasants is being sped up through the introduction of all kinds of oppressive laws. Those who raise their voice against these oppressive laws are being branded “anti-national!”

Fascist powers are committing crimes against the people in the name of religion and caste. In such a situation, there is only one way, that there is a need for adopting the ideology of the independence struggle of 1857, which inspired the Ghadari babas and was adopted by Bhagat Singh and his revolutionary comrades. There is a need for navnirman (rebuilding) of India to save humanity not only in India but across the globe.

Omprakash, Bhimraj Saharan, Sanju Khichad, Saqar Khan, Kashi Ram Sahoo (Presidenet, Gram Vikas Committee), Dharampal, Pannalaal, Palaram Bhagu, Mitthu Laal, Mahendar, Banwari Laal Bhagu and others were present in the meeting.

The meeting was moderated by Ashok Verma who maintained continuity by reciting revolutionary songs and poems from time to time.
