The on-going protests in several cities across the US against Wall Street converged into anti-war protests on the anniversary of the US invasion of Afghanistan. The protestors participated in thousands in meetings organized by anti-war organisations,on October 7, 2011, pointing out to the connection between the war and Wall Street – that the federal budget provides unlimited funds for war and corporate welfare, yet withholds essential funds for services that meet human needs!
The Iraq Veterans against the War and the A.N.S.W.E.R Coalition (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism), the Granny Peace Brigade, an anti-war group made up primarily of senior citizens, the Coalition for Peace Action and several other groups scheduled protests in various cities around the country, which were joined by thousands of protestors across the country.
