The National Federation of Road Transport Workers observed International Action Day of Workers on October 3, 2011, according to its General Secretary Comrade M.L.Yadav. The NFRTW is affiliated to the Trade Union International – Transport.
The National Federation of Road Transport Workers observed International Action Day of Workers on October 3, 2011, according to its General Secretary Comrade M.L.Yadav. The NFRTW is affiliated to the Trade Union International – Transport.
Meetings, demonstrations and protests were organized all over the world and in India by trade union centers and industry unions affiliated to the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU). The WFTU at its meeting held in Athens on 06-10 April 2011 had called for this day of action.
The demands raised were:
- Public Social Security To All
- Collective Bargaining-Collective Agreements
- Trade Union And Democratic Freedoms
- Better Wages
- 35 Hours Of Work In A Week—07 Hours Work Per Day And A Five Day Working Week
October 3 was also observed by the trade unions as solidarity day with the Palestinian people's struggle for their independent home land and to demand freedom for the five innocent Cuban patriots who are in American Jail.
