US Imperialist intrigue

Sir,

I wish to join the refrain expressed in the article published in the June 1-15, 2012 issue of MEL entitled “Condemn US imperialist intrigue and meddling in India and the region!” This article was published at the time of the visit of Ms. Hillary Clinton, US Secretary of State and well-known war monger and mischief maker.

Can it be forgotten that it was she who said the craven words, “We came, we saw, he died” at the death of Muammar Gaddaffi last year, the head of a sovereign state, at the time of the overthrow of his regime by a rag tag bunch of sponsored interests and traitors in Libya? What is such a person doing in our country? Furthermore, her activities ranging from interference in India’s internal affairs and in India’s relationship with its neighbours is nothing short of despicable.

Furthermore, the visit was also aimed at curtaling India’s engagement with Iran, long time enemy of the US and general obstruction to the expansion of US imperialist aims in the region. The article has also pointed out that a new tactic that is being adopted by the US imperialists is to cultivate leaders of political parties and local heads of Governments and trying to play one off another another. This is an extraordinarily dangerous trend and must be condemned by one and all. The history of the last 60 years has shown that no activity of the US has had any positive consequences for any of the peoples of the world. They have played off various sections of society in the erstwhile USSR and the East Bloc which has brought nothing but ruin.

The people of India had better watch out for this kind of nefarious activity now and in the future. Only a well-educated and conscious population can face these challenges ahead. The article in MEL has played the important role of carrying out such education. I would like to congratulate the CGPI on this.

Sincerely,

S. Nair, Kochi
