On 18th March, the kisan andolan declared that they will demonstrate against the new bill passed in the Haryana Assembly to recover damages occurring during protest actions by people.
The Sanyukt Kisan Morcha declared that it will mobilise and organise trade unions, workers organisation, and organisations of lawyers, traders, women and youth to agitate against the bill.
On 5th April kisans organised protest actions at FCI offices across the country
Kisans organised protest action at FCI offices in Vijaywada and Angol in Andhra Pradesh, Kaithal, Gurugram, Rohtak, Fatehbad, Sonepat, Ambala, Karnal and other places in Haryana, and in Sitamarhi in Bihar. Protest actions were also held at Sriganganagar, Nagaur, Sawai Madhopur, and several places in Rajasthan. In Punjab, protest actions were held at more than 60 location, including Bhavanipur, Sunaam, Barnala, Sangrur, Jalandhar, Gurudaspur, Mansa and Amritsar.
On 10th April, the KMP Expressway was blocked for 24 hours in response to the call given by the Samyukt Kisan Morcha. Kisans parked their tractor-trolleys in the middle of the 6-lane expressway. Thousands of kisans held protest actions at various locations along the KMP expressway.
Many other programmes have been announced including Kisan Bachao Diwas (Save Peasants Day), on 14th April, workers-peasant unity day on 1 May, which will be observed at the protest sites at Delhi borders.
The kisans are also planning to hold a Peasant Rally at Parliament House, to press for their demand for repeal of the three anti-farmer laws.
