On the second day of the election campaign at Kanyakumari, before beginning the work, all comrades gathered together and studied and briefly discussed the statement issued by the central committee of the Communist Ghadar Party of India. Then comrades started their election campaign work. Heavy rains the afternoon has retarded the caravan. However today they visited and held meetings in various places including Puthan Sandai, Edaikodu, Melpalai, Kuttaikodu, Devikodu, Panachamoodu, Melakodu, Vellachi Parai, Kulap Parai, Kettur Konam, Ambala Kalai, Kizh Mangodu, Narthang Kuzhi, Mukutukal and Manjalu Moodu. Meeting held at Manjalu Moodu in the evening was particularly attended by a large number of people who were in the junction, stayed on to listen to us with serious attention.
In each of these places speakers of the party kept explaining the nature of political parties who are part of this democracy. They pointed out that DMK and ADMK are capitalist fronts and they take turns to rule and exploit people of TN to the core. Hence without taking any side with them, it is very important to defeat both these fronts. In India, political power is in the hands of the monopoly capitalists. Hence if we were to find solution to the problems of the people, it is important that workers and peasants must hold political power in their hands. Electing people’s candidate Com.Wilson is in the direction of defeating the self serving political parties and organizing workers and peasants to fight for political power, they explained.
Our comrades distributed the candidate’s manifesto and party’s leaflet amongst people at all traffic junction points. These statements and our comrades speeches were received enthusiastically by the people. Our speakers amongst other points also explained how the capitalist parties are funded by the capitalists with crores of rupees looted and exploited from workers. They called on the people to contribute generously to carry out the political campaign of people’s candidate. People enthusiastically responded to our call. People have been generously contributing to the election fund of the people’s candidate.
