Sanitation workers employed by the three Municipal Corporations of Delhi (MCD) are agitating for their just demands. They have threatened to go on strike if the Corporations do not accede to these demands.

According to the workers, the unified MCD had promised to make them permanent employees and give them their arrears. However these promises had not been fulfilled.

Southern railways workers

The Southern Railway Mazdoor Union has opposed the Railway Ministry’s move to provide the drawings and designs of coaches of Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai, to five private coach manufacturing factories to come up in the country.  “This move is nothing but plundering of the national wealth for the benefit of private companies,” said Mr.Sridhar, zonal president of the union.

National Rural Health Mission workers

Following the decision of the Maharastra government to outsource some of the functions of the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) to private contractors, the NRHM workers of Maharastra went on a state wide strike from July 1, 2013. The workers are organized under the banner of the NRHM Adhikariva Karamchari Mahasangh.

Patriotic Indians in Canada celebrate the centenary of the Hindustani Ghadar Party

In the history of our revolutionary movement, the role of the revolutionaries in North America and other parts of the world occupies a very special place. Today too, in the work to complete the unfinished task of the Gadari babas in today’s conditions of India and the world, the role of patriotic and progressive Indians abroad retains greatest significance. The Gadar Centenary Committee organised a grand three-day program in Toronto, Canada, to commemorate the centenary of the founding of the Hindustani Gadar Party in 1913 in North America.
