A very important document for the working class

The document that was published on 23^rd March, and distributed widely across the country among the working class, youth, toilers and intelligentsia and published in Mazdoor Ekta Lehar, is very important for the proletariat and toilers.

During the election campaign for the Lok Sabha, Prime Minister designate Narendra Modi made a number of speeches in West Bengal and Assam threatening to deport "illegal Bangladeshi immigrants" when BJP came to power. He is neither the first nor the last political leader of India to target Bengali Muslims in India.

There have been numerous massacres of people of the Muslim faith in Assam, the most recent being during the ongoing elections. The Nellie massacre in 1983 during the Assam agitation against "foreigners" in which thousands of people died cannot ever be forgotten.

A packed memorial meeting was held in Vanamali Hall, in Dadar, Mumbai on 6^th May 2014 to pay respects to Comrade KL Bajaj who passed away on April 18^th 2014 at the age of 79 years. The meeting was attended by members of different trade unions, mass organizations and political parties.

Mukul Sinha, militant trade unionist, lawyer and tireless fighter for the cause of the workers and oppressed, passed away at the age of 63, on May 12, 2014. He had been diagnosed with cancer.

Mass protests have been raging across Turkey since May 14, when a catastrophic mine disaster at a mine owned and operated by the Soma Kumur company took place in the city of Soma, reported to be the most deadly industrial accident in the history of Turkey.

The multi-crore T.V. industry impacts every home in urban and much of rural India. Little is known, however, about the intensely exploitative working conditions of the workers behind the scenes, whose labour plays a vital role in the commercial success of this glamour industry.
