On 24th August 2023, repair work was going on at an old petrol pump building in Jalandhar, Punjab. The roof of the petrol pump suddenly collapsed while it was being repaired, killing two workers and injuring another two.

All India United Convention of Workers and Peasants

Report of the correspondent of Mazdoor Ekta Committee

A joint convention was organized by Central Trade Unions, Federations, Associations and Samyukt Kisan Morcha at Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi on August 24, 2023. The convention announced the aim of workers and peasants to intensify the united struggle against the anti-worker, anti-farmer, anti-people and anti-national policies of the government.

15th Summit Meeting of BRICS countries

The Summit announced that 6 countries have been admitted as members of BRICS from January 1, 2024. These are Argentine, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Taken together, the expanded forum includes four of the biggest oil exporting countries of the world (Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iran and UAE) and two of the largest oil importers of the world (China and India) as its members.
