BRICS summit in Kazan, Russia:
Growing opposition to US domination

The successful BRICS Summit held in Kazan does not mean that the participating countries have broken away from US influence or are openly opposing the dictate of US imperialism. However, it shows that there is widespread discontent with the US imperialist attempts to order the world according to its own interests. This is bringing together even countries and governments that have disagreements and tensions amongst themselves.

Farmers’ agitation demanding purchase of paddy

Currently farmers are agitating in Punjab demanding the purchase of paddy. A militant dharna on the roads in different districts of Punjab under the leadership of Bharatiya Kisan Union Ekta Ugrahan, on October 17, 2024, ensured that toll road were made free. At the dharna, slogans were raised against the Punjab and Central Government.

Andolan for timely and complete purchase of crops

On 18 October, farmers of Rawatsar tehsil of Hanumangarh district in Rajasthan demonstrated at the subdivision office for the resolution of their various demands. This demonstration was held under the leadership of All India Kisan Sabha and Kisan Mazdoor Vyapari Sangharsh Samiti Rawatsar. A memorandum was handed over to the subdivision office.

The 7th of November, 2024, marks the 107th anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution in Russia. Even though the Soviet Union does not exist today, the path shown by the October revolution remains the only way to save humanity from repeated crises and imperialist wars. It is the only way to open the door to the progress of society from capitalism to socialism and communism.

Struggle of tea-garden workers

The relay hunger strike of tea-garden workers in Darjeeling, under the leadership of Hill Plantations Employees Union, is continuing since 8 October. Tea-garden workers are fighting a militant struggle for their just demand of bonus payments. Every day a new group of workers is joining the hunger strike. The participation of women workers in the entire struggle and in the hunger-strike is very strong and militant.
