Your article on the anniversary of 1857, brought back memories of the “Ghadar Jaari Hai Abhiyan” in 2007, in which many organisations and individuals participated all across India.

In the MEL web edition dated 16th May 2021 we have written about plight of doctors and nurses especially during the current pandemic and complete apathy by Central and various state governments. Another very major set of front-line health workers are Aasha workers.

The article is very timely and brings out the nasty gimmicks of the biggest pharma companies which they have always used to their benefit and are doing it yet again. At a time where the entire world is grappling with the crisis of a deadly virus, all that the monopoly pharma companies can think of is PROFIT!

As has been rightly pointed out in the article “Privatisation of Covid vaccination is Anti-People,” India’s new vaccine policy is designed not for the welfare of the people but for the profit of private vaccine producers and private hospitals.

The Call of the Communist Ghadar Party of India on the occasion of Mayday 2021 must resonate with every worker and toiler in our country. As described in the Call, millions of our workers and peasants are living and working in the most inhuman conditions. They are being exploited to the bone and have no means to give their families a decent existence.

This is in response to the statement of CC of the CGPI on the occasion of May Day. The statement represents the condition of the working class today in our country and condemns the ruling capitalist class and its government. This statement clearly shows that even after 73 years of independence, the workers and peasants still struggle for roti, kapda and makaan.

This article is historical as well as relevant for today. The present bourgeois imperialist state keeps propagating that this is the last advanced system and that there is no alternative to the capitalist system.

The statement makes it absolutely clear how elections are conducted in India. Important issues have been brought to light, like who funds the various political parties and their campaigns, what propaganda is spread before and during the election using all possible platforms to reach the masses and how the entire nation is fooled, be it central elections or the state elections.

I recently revisited some statements issued by the Central Committee of CGPI that dealt with the attacks on the working class in the country today. It is evident that the enactment of the three labour codes passed by the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha in September 2020 has further aggravated the situation.
