This is in response to the statement of CC of the CGPI on the occasion of May Day. The statement represents the condition of the working class today in our country and condemns the ruling capitalist class and its government. This statement clearly shows that even after 73 years of independence, the workers and peasants still struggle for roti, kapda and makaan.

This article is historical as well as relevant for today. The present bourgeois imperialist state keeps propagating that this is the last advanced system and that there is no alternative to the capitalist system.

The statement makes it absolutely clear how elections are conducted in India. Important issues have been brought to light, like who funds the various political parties and their campaigns, what propaganda is spread before and during the election using all possible platforms to reach the masses and how the entire nation is fooled, be it central elections or the state elections.

I recently revisited some statements issued by the Central Committee of CGPI that dealt with the attacks on the working class in the country today. It is evident that the enactment of the three labour codes passed by the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha in September 2020 has further aggravated the situation.

In this Westminister model of democracy, it is dictatorship for the majority and democracy for the capitalist class. In this political system, the parties of the capitalist class are used to divide and divert the working class and  the toiling masses from the real issues facing them.

The article very convincingly points out as to how current facts and phenomena with reference to ongoing Kisan Mazdoor struggle against the new laws, reveal that the existing system of parliamentary democracy is the dictatorship of an exploiting super-rich minority over the vast majority of people.
