Thousands of anganwadi workers held a militant demonstration in Delhi on 24th of February, 2011. Women from all over the country took part in this demonstration. Anganwadi workers are being paid a paltry sum in the name of stipend. The women challenged Congress Chairperson Sonia Gandhi to run a family on this pittance.

On February 23, 2011, workers from all the states of our country, and various sectors of the economy, assembled together in the capital to march to parliament. The march to parliament was aimed at letting the government, parliament, as well as the people of the entire country know that the workers of our country, irrespective of party or union affiliation, have decided to organize unitedly for their rights. The workers affirmed that they are determined to resist the attacks on their livelihood and rights which have been unleashed by the UPA government on behalf of the capitalists.

A serious crisis in the state of Karnataka has resulted in the sanctioning of prosecution of the Chief Minister Shri B. S. Yeddyurappa by the Governor Shri H. R. Bhardwaj in the case of allotment of prime land in and around Bangalore to his close relatives. The BJP has gone on the war path calling for a statewide bandh and accusing the Governor of being a Congress agent. They claim that his single point agenda is to eliminate the BJP Government and prepare conditions for a Congress Government.
