This paper, entitled Only Communism Can Save India! was presented by Comrade Lal Singh, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Ghadar Party of India, at the Kanpur Communist Conference, 2000. The publication also includes the resolution adopted at the Kanpur Communist Conference, 2000.

The workers, peasants, women and youth of India are waging an extremely difficult struggle today, in defence of their livelihood and rights, against the stepped up attacks by the bourgeoisie. All over the country, workers are fighting against privatisation, closures, layoffs, contract labour, intensified exploitation and insecurity of employment. At the end of September 2000, three trade union leaders working in the Lawrence Road unit of MFIL were suspended. Suspension of workers for real or false charges is a common practice in capitalist India.
