Who is going to lead the struggle against corruption?

Sir,

Sir,

I am grateful to the CGPI for its analytical, educational, incisive and highly educational statement entitled "Workers and peasants must lead the struggle to end corruption’’ dated 8 June, 2011 which has been posted on the party web-site.  The statement is an example of the application of the principles of Marxism-Leninism which is the analysis of the events unfolding in the political sphere on the basis of the class contradictions.

The article clearly demonstrates that the phenomenon at hand, which is the bringing of corruption as the centre piece of the agenda that society must engage itself is the result of internecine conflict in the ranks of the bourgeoisie, with the principal bourgeois parties playing the leading role. Large sections of society have been dovetailed into the process and the monopoly media crying itself hoarse about this or that aspect of the issue. The phenomenon is unfolding at a time when there is massive disillusionment across the length and breadth of the country, in the ranks of the working millions, in the ranks of the peasantry, in the ranks of the tribal peoples, in the ranks of the youth, in the ranks of the women that it is capitalism that is the bane that is inflicting the country. The state apparatus is a part of the same system and corruption has been the grease that has been keeping the machine running.  Therefore, to single out the grease rather than the machine is one of diversion, and it can only be the bourgeoisie that is behind this call.

There is enough evidence to show that the crisis of credibility of the ruling circles has been deepening and it has given rise to opportunities for sections of the bourgeoisie and also imperialism to try and interfere and set the agenda for discourse, as has been explained in the system. On the other hand, the situation has also created an opportunity for the conscious elements in the working class movement to seize the initiative and demonstrate what is what. I consider the statement of the CGPI an important milestone in this direction.  I would like to thank the party for this service.

Sincerely,

S. Nair, Kochi
