Till recently, government wages were given to all workers of the Anna sugar mills since its inception. However, after an agreement between the South Indian Sugar Manufacturing Association with the government and the Unions, for private sugar mills, the government was trying to impose this wage agreement on the Anna Sugar Mill Workers, to their detriment.
